I have to confess I don't own a tagine, but I've made about half of the dishes in this book in a slow cooker and had perfect results. Most of the dishes are full of wonderful flavours, too. I have tweaked a couple of recipes to my own tastes, maybe replacing one ingredient with something I prefer, and avoiding anything like lemon, where a family member has an allergy, but I don't think there's a recipe in this book I won't try, and there are already many I use often. Mutton made a very nice substitute for minced lamb, and I tried the recipe with chicken and green grapes, both with the grapes and then substituting chick peas instead, and I preferred using the chick peas, but either way, the flavours were wonderful. If there's something you don't like the look of, use a little imagination and tweak it to suit.
I wanted to cook a couple of tagine dishes and was looking for a book with recipes that were not overly complicated to follow. I have cooked two dishes from the book and both were very tasty. This book fits the bill admirably and I have recommended it to friends.
