This was the first silicone bakeware product I have ever used. While the Jamaican ginger loaf was very tasty, it came out a very odd shape! The silicone just isnt robust enough to keep the nice loaf shape. Has put me off silicone bakeware a bit I must be honest.
What on earth have other people been baking that creates this bulge problem?? This was the first piece of silicone bakeware I ever bought and I since replaced all my old tins with the stuff. No more messing around with greasing and lining, just perfect results Every. Single. Time. And not once has it created a bulging cake!
My husband has just made a fruit cake in this and it turned out perfect. So easy to get out without sticking and dishwasherproof too.
The loaf pan is great for turning out the loaf but I agree that it bulges a bit to give an odd shape. I will try to place it in a traditional loaf tin to see if that works.
I really like this product albeit the 'bulging' makes for an interesting shaped loaf. Perhaps the sides could be reinforced in some way? I've only greased it once for its first use and despite using it most days since then, it has never stuck.
