Drawstring Cotton Bread Loaf Storage Bag - Standard Size

Product number: 1307

We all know that the best, preservative-free home-made or artisan bread, doesn’t stay fresh for more than a few days. Unless you have one of these incredible Bread Storage Bags, that is. Used properly, your bag will keep a standard-sized loaf as moist and crusty as the day you sliced into it for the first time for days and days. Less for the birds in your garden, perhaps, but more for you!

About Bread Bags

Some people say that that the key to keeping bread fresh is to keep it in the dark... or in an airtight container... or in a linen bag. Until we found these bags, that was your choice, but with these amazing Bread Bags you can do all three, without having to have a bulky bread bin taking up space on your countertop. Just pop your bread into a Bread Bag, and make sure the drawstring’s pulled tight each time you take out a piece, and loaves or rolls will stay just as you want them for days longer than in a tupperware tub or bread bin, reducing wastage from having to throw stale or mouldy bread away and freeing up space in your freezer.

Please allow freshly-baked bread to cool fully before you store it in a Bread Bag.

This product works best if stored somewhere cool.

"Drawstring Cotton Bread Loaf Storage Bag"

Disappointed with this bag - really thought that the Lakeland brand would bring benefits in storing my home made loaves. But sadly not the case : white marks appear very quickly on the loaf, soft crusts and just had to throw out half a quite recently made loaf because smothered in blue mould.

"Overpriced"

I bought this as I thought it would be as good as the vegetable bags. However, it felt insubstantial for the price. The vegetable bags have a toggle to tighten the cord to prevent air entering. This doesn't and is effectively a thin plastic-lined cotton bag.

"Really disappointed with this bag"

Yes, there are mixed views below, and felt we had no choice but to try this bag when Lakeland stopped selling the brilliant breathable bread bags that we have always previously used for our homemade machine-baked bread. We have now tried this three times, each time ensuring that the bag was dry and completely clean, and each time white spots have appeared on the crust within three days, and the loaves feel slightly damp. I am eking out my stock of the breathable bags, and have just six left. PLEASE, Lakeland, re-consider your decision to stop selling the breathable bags.

"A very useful reliable bag that keeps bread fresh"

star star star star star

I have had one of these bags for a number of year in fact I have a bread bag and a baguette bag both of which live in our camper van where storage of fresh bread and baguettes are difficult at the best of times but using these bags we have travelled all over the UK, most of Europe and we even took them to NewZealand when we hired a camper for 6 weeks. Our bread was Always fresh until the last crust . I have on occasion left bread in the bag in the van when we have unloaded at the end of a trip and often it is 7 days before we go back to check we have decided it makes excellent toast

"Not fit for purpose"

star star_border star_border star_border star_border

I purchased a drawstring bread bag and this was definitely poor value for money it has cost me £7-98 plus x2 loaves.I took my bread out of the packet and it went mouldy faster than it would have if I had not bothered

Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry you've been disappointed with the results from this bread bag. We'll be in touch shortly to put things right for you. You can place sliced bread in the bag using the original packaging if you wish and we do recommend that a freshly baked loaf to cool completely before placing in the bag.
