"Bargain." star star star star star I bought this fryer to be used in the garage so didn't need fancy filters to stop smells etc as it would be used out of the house. This fryer does everything my last fryer did (without the filter) and cost £80 less. Unfortunately on the 3rd use my husband turned it on to heat up and didn't lift the folded handle out of the basket. Result = a melted handle and a very cross wife! It wasn't a problem though as I have just ordered a replacement handle for £3. Just a note to purchasers that it does exactly what it says on the box but do remember to lift the handle before heating up.
"Great product." star star star star star_border I bought this deep fryer in the hope I would be able to clean it thoroughly after each use. Fantastic! No more mess. It does exactly what it says. However, the glass viewing window steams up and is therefore not useful, and as this panel is removable it does get water under it when you wash it, just need to stand it up to drain thoroughly.
"great fryer" star star star star star_border This fryer was easy to set up, hadn't used a fryer for a long time and the instructions were clear. Made some mini scotch eggs for the first time and they came out great. Very happy with this product
"Nice chips!" star star star star star_border This is a neat fryer which is easy to clean. I bought it after moving house when I reluctantly had to leave behind a built-in deep fat fryer and was wary of choosing a replacement. It is very versatile - I've cooked fish in it and prawns in a tempura batter (so easy - SR flour + fizzy water) as well as chips and onion rings. If the lid steams up the solution is easy - take it off!!I'm about to buy a second one for my daughter, so that has to be a recommendation.
"Poor buy" star star_border star_border star_border star_border I am extremely disappointed with this fryer. I bought it after a great deal of looking around. When in use the lid pushes steam from my chips onto the control panel making the temperature control too hot to use and I turn it off using a wooden spoon. Also when I wiped the condensed steam off the on/off and temperature control panel the white temperature markings faded away too, along with the Lakeland logo. I am afraid to clean the control panel anymore as I will lose the last bit of the temperature marking. It is not advertised as a cool wall fryer and it certainly isn't, you need to be able to leave it in place for an hour or two to cool down before putting it away. Another problem I have is that you need a bit of workspace to put the lid down on whilst you lift your food out- and the lid is dripping with water. Another major complaint is that despite having a 3 litre oil capacity it can only cook 454g of chips at a time- I didn't see this fact advertised in the catalogue or website. Most other deep fat fryers have a 2-2.25 litre oil capacity and can cook 1kg of chips; when I bought this one I thought that I would be able to cook a bigger batch than before not smaller (I cook for my family). I had a great fryer before and when it broke I got another one quickly and regretted it. This was a very considered purchase and I bought from Lakeland because I have always had quality products in the past, and I am extremely disappointed with this fryer. I would not recommend it to anyone and and would advise real chip lovers to avoid buying it. support_agent A note from the team I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the fryer. I'll be in touch shortly to put things right for you.
