"Excellent for indulgence"
On those occasions when only 'proper' chips will do, this fryer is excellent and I always manage to cook great chips, whether from fresh potatoes or frozen. The only drawback is limiting using it to around once a week.

We'd been looking for a compact deep fat fryer for a while- nothing we'd seen was up to the mark. We wanted to be able to put it away in a cupboard when it wasn't in use - and basically use it for a couple of portions of good old home made chips once in a while. This little fryer does just what it should. It makes two portions of perfect chips, is nice and compact and is very easy to clean. The temperature gauge, though simple, seems accurate enough and the handle is fine (and comes off easily for storage). We can't fault it. Once again Lakeland has just the right product!
bought this purely because it was small and seemed robust and it doesn't disappoint. I read the reviews before purchasing and noted the comments, but I can't see what the fuss is about. the comments about "cool wall" are noted, but you can't expect something to be cool on the outside with 200 degrees of oil on the inside unless it's made out of carbon fibre or similar and you're not going to get that for £36!! yes the outside of the fryer is warm but it won't burn you and it certainly is hot inside. the pictures and directions for fixing the arm are, as previously mentioned, a
Yes, as mentioned by A.N.Other, the outer case does get hot, but not such that you would be in danger of burning yourself. Yes, the handle is a bit fiddly to remove, but perfectly secure so long as you do not squeeze the handle when pouring the contents of the basket. The fryer works very well producing perfectly fried chips with enough capacity for two reasonable adult portions. Can't fault it, it's great value and does what it says on the box.
This little beauty arrived a couple of days ago, chips for tea on two days! The fryer does exactly what it says on the tin perfectly, chips are just right, crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Excellent product.
