Kuhn Rikon 5L Duromatic® Pressure Cooker

Product number: 12805

With over fifty years experience, family company Kuhn Rikon pride themselves on superb craftsmanship, and their pressure cooker, whose design has remained virtually unchanged for half a century, truly stands out from the crowd.

Our Kitchenware Buyer Veronica tells us this device has banished every worry she ever had about pressure cooking, and after thoroughly testing the product at home, she is 100% converted to the cause. Having rustled up French onion soup in 4½ minutes, lamb stew in 20 minutes, and chicken casserole in less than half an hour, it's easy to see why Veronica is hooked. Safe, fast healthy and versatile, the pressure cooking revolution starts here!

It's possibly the most user-friendly model we've ever come across, and here's why we love it:

  • pressure cooking saves energy through reducing cooking time by up to 60%
  • it preserves vitamins, minerals, colour and aroma
  • the special cone-shaped lid creates less steam than conventional pressure cookers and gives a greater surface area for the steam to flow over so it cools down quicker
  • exclusively for Lakeland customers, there's an integrated cooking guide on the dial
  • no weights or measures to contend with
  • spring-loaded safety valve is the ultimate in safe design
  • automatic lid-lock

Swiss-made stainless steel.

15cm high. Weighs 3kg. Suitable for all hobs (inc. Induction).

"Seriously impressed"

star star star star star

I thought long and hard about buying a pressure cooker and am so glad that I did and that I chose this one. With time at a premium I can produce the best tasting joints in less than an hour with mouthwatering meat just falling off the bone. I have found that a steam basket is favourite for cooking veg though. Highly recommended

"impressed, but a bit small"

this cooker was easy to use and the food was very tasty. The box did not have an instruction manual, but I am not sure if this was just missing. However, for a family of 4, this cooker was a bit small, and just about had enough space for meat, potatoes, and various root vegetables, so with regret I decided to return it. Shame lakeland do not stock a larger size. 8 litres would be so much more versatile esp. as such an expensive item needs to earn its keep. However very impressed Lakeland took the used item back without any questions asked! Well done Lakeland

"Pressure Cooking Made Easy"

star star star star star

I regularly used a high dome pressure cooker in the 80s but was always unnerved by the rushing roar of escaping steam. Wishing to use this method of cooking again to save time and money, I considered this product for some time before buying. It's an expensive item after all. But I'm thrilled. It has hardly been off the hob since it arrived ! Breathtakingly easy to use, with an excellent instruction book, I have made some wonderful dishes in a fraction of the normal time. And it's incredibly quiet. No more steamed up windows and dripping tiles. Sound construction. A good investment

"A Slow Pressure Cooker, not recommended !"

Last year or so, I decided to buy a new pressure cooker, we bought a new Kuhn Rikon one. Looks great, well made, but doesn't do the job as well as the old Prestige ! I even bought a new spring because I thought the one fitted was the wrong rate, wrong pressure, no, the potatoes still came out uncooked.

I have recently purchased the Kuhn Rikon pressure cooker although it is expensive I have been using a pressure cooker for over forty years and this one is fantastic quick and no steam, I will certainly be saving for a second one.
