"EXCELLENT!" star star star star star I LOVE this little grater. It makes my life so much easier when grating garlic as it's so easy to clean. Also brilliant for ginger...Very safe to use too, I can not recommend this enough! Several of my friends are now proud owners of one of these too!!
"just what i needed" star star star star_border star_border I think the grater is good, smaller items can go in the holder so you can grate things like garlic or small blocks of cheese and you can still grate normal size cheese or other veg without it and collect it all in little container at the bottom. is quite small so if you need to grate big quantities you might want a bigger one.
"disappointed" star star star_border star_border star_border Seemed a good idea but is difficult to use. The whole of the top seems to be bowed which makes grating difficult. Only way to use it is to take the whole thing to bits and just use as a hand held grater so most of it is in the bin now. Not worth the price. support_agent A note from the team I'm sorry to learn that the grater appears to have been faulty, I'll be in touch shortly.
"No competition for Microplaner. Avoid." star star_border star_border star_border star_border I purchased this item because it was so reasonable and it looked just like the fine Microplaner I always buy and half the price. Hmmm.. I zest a lot of lemons and this did not slide gracefully and zest with no effort as I expected but grated very disobligingly into lumps. It was very awkward to use and took me many times longer than usual. It seemed to have the shaving edges too high up. First time disappointed with an item from Lakeland with you name on it, and next to the proper Microplaners suggesting it was an alternative. Very naughty. support_agent A note from the team Thanks for placing your review. Sorry for the disappointment.I'll be in touch shortly to help.
"Disappointed and unimpressed" star star_border star_border star_border star_border This review is for an older version of this product I am disappointed with the My Kitchen Grater. It is nearly useless for grating citrus fruit (which is mainly what I use it for). The sharp edges seem to stick up too much vertically, this means the bitter pith of the citrus fruit is grated along with the skin and that the grating action is bumpy and not smooth. I have used it a couple of times but have now given up and gone back to my now blunt microplane as it still does a better job. I would not recommend it. support_agent A note from the team Thanks for placing your review.I'm sorry for the disappointment and I'll be in touch shortly to help. The buyer has commented: Once the black safety slider is removed (it's designed for small pieces like garlic, nutmeg, etc), the grater works exactly the same as any other micro-etched grater. You need to judge how much pressure you apply to the citrus, so it doesn't catch pith. We've not experienced any difficulties with the angle of the blades, which were used almost flat.
