Lakeland Glass Kettle

This is a fantastic kettle, looks fabulous and I've not had problems with scaling like other people mention tho I am very careful to use filtered water only. I agree that the base needs to be heavier as I lift up the kettle and the base sometimes comes with it. The first one we had tripped all the house electrics each time time it came to the boil but Lakeland did their usual fantastic customer service bit and we had a replacement within 2 days. It is certainly a lot quieter and quicker than my previous kettle, but as that was a hob one, that's probably not much to go by - I love it!

I recently purchased this kettle and am very happy with the product. I have been using filtered water in it from the outset but after the first few days a crescent shaped white mark consisting of small spots appeared on the inside base. I presume this is limescale that has somehow escaped the filter. I just don't seem able to remove this mark however it doesn't affect the taste. I am very pleased with the kettle's stylish look and ability to boil quietly and quickly.

Although we use filtered water, in just one week of use the kettle is visibly chalky, with a crescent shape mark on the base of the inside and a misty tide mark up the sides. In fact, I was so disappointed that I cleaned it today and it was restored to it's former glory. However, after just four boils the chalk crescent is appearing again. I should add that the taste is not affected.

This is a lovely kettle but I have found it a nightmare when it comes to limescale. I have previously had a glass kettle and have always managed to get rid of the limescale, with this kettle I just can't seem to remove it completely. I've not had it long and considering the price of it, it appears to be a waste of money - Sorry Lakeland.

We bought one of these nearly a year ago and it developed a fault with the lid. Lakeland changed it immediately as this was a known problem, apparently, which has now been sorted out. The replacement kettle is excellent, looks cool (no, that's probably not the right word for a kettle!), boils quickly and pours cleanly. Highly recommended.
