When did you last change your cooker hood filter? It should be approximately every 6 months for grease, and every 12 months for charcoal filters.
If your hood vents to an outside wall you'll need the Grease Filter Set, and the Grease/Charcoal Set if air circulates back into the kitchen. When you 'see red' it is time to replace them, as the grease filters change colour when saturated.

This.filter is excellent. It lasts around 3 moths. when it goes red you simply Remus with another one. Perfect fit.

Arrived earlier than expected, and it works better than the original, it might cost more than some but this is a class above those others.

This is a great product. We inherited a kitchen with a very old extractor (for which filters have been discontinued) when we bought our house two years ago and these have been an excellent substitute. The filters catch plenty of grease, meaning less cooking smells and cleaning and the change in colour when they need changing is an excellent feature.
