My Kitchen Cook & Bake 23cm Loose-Based Deep Cake Tin

I have used this tin to make my guinness cake 4 times now and each time I get perfect, predictable results. I always use good quality grease proof paper on the sides and bottom. The recipe fits perfectly in this size pan. I like the deep tin because I leave the cake in the tin to cool over night and then next day I pour over the creme icing and pop it in the fridge. When the cake is removed it creates a very clean lined cake and topping. It has no leaks, it has not warped and the base is easily released by placing a tin (with a rubber cap on it) underneath and pushing down gently.

I am very impressed with this tin; it is jut as heavy duty as my Prestige tin. I just baked a nice madeira using mine. I have no idea what planet the person below is on; the cake cleans out very easily with the assistance of a washing up brush.

Last November I decided to treat myself to new tins for my Christmas cakes. I wish I hadn't bothered! I used them last month. Great to use and the cakes slip out very easily but that was when the problem occurred. They are SO hard to clean. A groove where the base meets the side allows mixture in. After 45 mins thinking I had got them clean, and then realising there were still bits of cake in the groove, I resorted to using a plastic toothpick which eventually finished the job for me. A real fault in the design which my old tins didn't have. Not your normal high standard.
