Microwave Fish Steamer

I have had one of these fish steamers for several years now and use it regularly to steam kipper fillets for breakfast. It is so useful and produces wonderful moist kippers with no smell in the kitchen.

Very good - one of our best kitchen buys! Cooks evenly. Just right for two portions. I'm pleased that even if you dress the fish with an oil-based sauce, the plastic seems unaffected. If you get it right, the residue that runs off into the bottom container is usable as a sauce for serving. Steamer cleans easily too. keep the outer cardboard wrapper, sellotape it, and use it to keep the whole thing together for storage.

This steamer does the job well, but who designed the lid? It is very difficult to catch hold of the knob when the steamer is cold, let alone when it is hot. The knob side 'cambers' the wrong way. Still a good cooking aid, but the lid a disappointment.

Fish cooks so quickly. Looks and tastes great. When the fish tray cracked down one side, I received a new fish steamer 2 days after I had e-mailed customer services about it. Excellent service.

Used this steamer for the first time and it produced a superbly steamed salmon fillet. No smell (great in my small open-plan flat!) and so quick I barely had time to turn round before it was ready. Highly recommended.
