Potato Preserving Bag

mrs edmonds from brighton i recently bought 3 of these bags, one for old potatoes and one for my new potatoes and another for my jacket potatoes. i had a hessian sack that my husband had previously bought me but they always sprouted in there, however i have to say i have had no problem with these bags they are so much nicer than the sack i had before to look at and they work! admittedly i store all my sacks including also an onion sack under the stairs, perfect because its dark and cool. i have never kept potatoes in the fridge nor anymore in my built in sliding larder unit.

I have read the other reviews and am very surprised as I have found this keeps the potatoes in excellent condition perhaps this is because I do not keep them in the fridge.

I've had this same bag for years with no problems at all. I put the spuds in the special bag and pop them into the bottom of the fridge, taking care not to let the the bag touch the cooling plate at the back. They last longer than just refridgerating them in a ventilated plastic bag.

The onion and potato bags are excellent. Items lasting much longer than usual. However, the mushroom bag did not seem to do the same.

My potato bag ended up in the bin after being unused in my cupboard for many months. It had gone mouldy and no longer felt that it was suitable to keep my spuds fresh. I do think it works better than keeping my potatoes in the plastic bag they come in, but reading about people keeping potatoes fresh for longer in the fridge, I may have to give that a try.
