My wife found electronic scales confusing. She finds that the Salter scales ideal. They are easy to use and if larger quantities are needed contents are easily tipped or poured into a larger bowl, or to an electric mixer bowl when needs be. It stows away neatly & unobtrusively as the bowl engages the base when inverted, and so takes up minimal space on the shelf above the work surface as it is very light. We are both very pleased with this product.

I bought this when I realised just how quickly the batteries ran out on my electric scales (not a Lakeland purchase; that'll teach me!) and didn't want to be bothered with replacing them every couple of months. It looks lovely, the pouring spout on the bowl is such a simple feature, but makes a massive difference when working with more liquid recipes such as batter, and little wings on the base make swivelling it round to reset the weight really easy.

I am very disappointed with the scales as both Salter & Lakeland are reliable companies. The dial is too close to the work surface so it is easily knocked. The bowl is too wide & shallow for mixing a double quantity cake. I shall continue to use my old scales which are a similar style.
