"Egg Rings for the BBQ"

star star star star star

These are fabulous. Our BBQ has a hotplate which we use to "fry" eggs at the same time as we BBQ the rest of our "Full English". The eggs used to go all over the place, particularly if the BBQ wasn't level, but with egg rings you get perfect "Fried" eggs every time even if the BBQ isn't level. Just spray the inside of the egg ring with oil from the Lakeland Olive Oil pump and off you go - a perfect egg every time.

"Is it just me that can't use this?"

I just can't seem to use this correctly. Eggs are either raw on the top and burnt on the bottom, or, I have to flip the egg over so the yolk is solid. I've tried v hot pan, hot pan, warm pan, oil, no oil, butter, and assorted combinations of the above with no success. I have resigned myself to poached eggs in my much loved poach pods :(

Thankyou for your feedback. One of our customers has recommended that if you place a lid on the top of the frying pan it will cook the egg more evenly and the top will be the same as if you have basted it.

"Don't Believe The Hype!"

star star star_border star_border star_border

I don't know what it's like for crumpets or pancakes, but when frying an egg, the white runs away underneath the ring, and a fried egg comes out exactly the same! I'm not sure that it's worth the effort or the money!

"Great for making crumpets"

Well greased, these are brilliant for making your own crumpets. Fill almost to the top and fry until nearly set, then you can shake the crumpet easily of the ring and turn it over with a spatula to fry the other side.

"Flat Pan"

star star star_border star_border star_border

Do make sure that the frying pan you intend to use has a perfectly flat bottom. The one I first used (two rings in) was slightly raised in the centre to allow fat to drain to the edge. The egg ring must not have any possible gaps underneath, otherwise....well you can guess what happens can't you?
