I bouight this mini cooker for my parents who use it a great deal and find it very handy for just the two of them. So much so they recommended it to a single frined who asked me to purchase one for her and she is delighted with this very useful item.
Bought one for my Mum at Christmas. To be honest, I thought I'd find it in a cupboard but no, low and behold she has a new found spring in her step. What, you may ask, has this got to do with a mini slow cooker? Everything because she is eating a full meal again with a minimum of fuss and washing up.
My wife and I are 82 years of age, and recently movedf from a bungalow to a one-bedroom Retirement Flat to be nearer to our family. We have hadd to learn to lvie within a very confortable but compact space, and reduce cooking and other types of equipment. This compact cooker has therefore proved to be ideal. We find we can prepare a small piece of brisket, chops, chicken legs, stewing beef, leave it all day or overnight, and it is perfect. Usually we find it provides enough for 2 days, so there is a minimum energy use as a bonus, The price is excellent, the quality of the product of the highest order, easy to use and to clean, and it is just what we needed. It is now in constant use.
It is economical and just right for a 2 person household like mine. However, I am limited by the amount of chunky vegetables I can add to a casserole. Its high temperature is equivalent to, or higher than the larger capacity slow cookers I have owned in the past; or on the market now. This makes me confident about cooking chicken in it. I am so impressed by this brand, and wondered if there is any chance of Lakeland offering a bigger sibling, say 3.5L?
We like stews, but not having to eat them day after day as was the case with our big family-sized slow cooker! It had to be 2/3rds full to work and that was still way too much for two people. This one holds just the right amount for two people and perhaps a guest, and where 2 packs of meat from the supermarket were needed before just the one will do now. A very sensible idea and so simple to use.
