Zyliss 2 Drum Food Grater

I purchased my Zyliss grater from Lakeland at the full price several years ago and still think it was worth every penny. Both drums perform well and it is easy to wash. I've had drum graters before but like Zyliss best.

Only thing wrong with devices like these - is that people seem to tend to hold them too tightly - alright it is a Kitchen implement but holding it too tightly impedes efficient turning on the handle and apart from slowing the thing down it stresses out any weaknesses and faults in the construction - All Metal might work better.

I disagree with most of the existing reviews of this product. I think it works very well, is easy to use and to clean. I agree the clip holding the handle in place is a bit fragile ( one of ours has broken) but this does not affect it's operation and the grater is in frequent and effective use in our kitchen.

An easy to assemble and use grater. Comes apart for easy cleaning. "Folds" flat for storage. Feels very solid in use. The rotary handle, as mentioned by other reviewers, has a design flaw. The clip locking it in place breaks off. This does not stop the grater being used, but you have to be careful when grating harder foods.

This would be an excellent product, if it weren't for the clips on the handle breaking. Lakeland very kindly replaced my grater the first time this happened, but the same thing has happened with the replacement (and I was particularly gentle with the second one, to try and stop this happening). I think it is a design fault that should be fed back to Zyliss.Other than that, it cleans better and seems generally stronger than any other drum grater I have used
