I have cooked rice in the microwave for years now but never really had the results I would like - this multi steamer is absolutely brilliant - perfect rice for the first time in my life. I cook for two and this is superb
This is great for cooking rice but I am on my third one because the bottoms kept cracking.However I realised it was because I would fill it up with cold water to soak before I washed up and that was what caused it to crack.
These are excellent, I cannot fault them, I've been using one for 2 years, mainly just to cook rice, and it makes cooking rice far easier, and cooks it perfectly every time.
Since buying the steamer a year ago I am so pleased to cook perfect rice every time. Cover the rice with boiling water and microwave for the standard time for the type of rice you are using. I always use brown rice and will microwave on high for 20 minutes,Leave for about 5 minutes and then lift the inner basket out and discard the water from the outer container.Put the inner basket back in outer container and cover till needed.Also works well for cooking pasta.My steamer gets used several times a week with no signs of any cracking or discolouration.
I agree with the comments by sandy. Excellent product that works well. The crackinf of the outer bowl does give concern as to the safety ascpects should it fail whilst in use. Would re order if cracking problem has been solved. Tim
