Beloved by Lakeland customers, Laucke’s Gluten Free Special White Bread Mixes are utterly brilliant for anyone who has to cut gluten and dairy products out of their diet. Each of the sachets makes one standard, oven-baked 750g loaf or you can create flat-breads, pizza bases, wraps, rolls – we’ve even heard from customers who like to prove it for longer to get a crumpet-like consistency… The baking world is your oyster once more.

Tried and tested, this delicious white bread tastes just as bread really should – ideal if you’re a late-diagnosed coeliac and miss ‘real’ bread – and because it’s been created as a hand-made mix, it’s really easy to adapt with extra ingredients it you like to add sun-dried tomatoes, olives or a little extra salt to suit your taste.

Tasting just like bread should, the loaves stay fresh for days.

Please note: because of the lack of gluten, the mix won’t make a classic bread dough, it looks more like a batter – which is why it’s not recommended for use in bread machines – but fans tell us the results are definitely worth waiting for.

"Great Bread"

After reading all the reviews I thought I would try the bread mix. After mixing all together I was not happy with the smell of it and though "Oh no" this is not going to be good! My husband said you do not know that until it is baked, true..... So in it went into the oven, and YES excellent bread, the best GF bread I have tasted. So please Lakeland do not stop purchasing this.

I'm so glad Lakeland choose to stock this excellent gluten free bread it is also yeast free which none of the competitors can claim.

"Much Better than Expected"

I bought this mix in a hurry without realising that it was not recommended for the bread machine I was ordering at the same time. However, with a couple of tweaks it has worked out very well. I looked at all the suggestions made in reviews and adapted the mix with one teaspoon of salt and one teaspoon of Easy Bake yeast. I used the gluten free setting on my bread maker (Panasonic Slimline SD-2501 Menu 12, Dark Crust) The result has been a delicious, closely textured, slightly chewy bread. It also makes pretty good toast. Also, this is my first bread maker and I am delighted with that too!

"The best gluten free bread so far!"

I have been buying and making gluten free bread for 5 years. We have tried ready made shop bought and online recipes but this has to be one of the best breads we have ever tried...even I eat it quite happily. It's very much like a normal French loaf, chewy( which my husband really misses in gluten free breads) I suspect it has a lot of starches in it and no weird after taste. It is in fact very neutral tasting, I have to admit we add in more salt, for taste. It's a reasonable price each loaf coming out at just over £2 each, not bad for gluten free prices. Please don't stop selling these!
