Upside Down Tomato Planters

Hanging tomato planter. Self-watering and keeps out of the way & out of reach from most pests.

You don’t have to garden standing on your head to use this topsy-turvy tomato planter – you just need somewhere to hang it up!

In a greenhouse, on a patio or even in a porch, your tomato plants will flourish because all the energy is used to produce big roots and bumper crops instead of being used to support the plants as they grow upwards. Taking the toil out of tomato growing, it cuts out a lot of digging and weeding; it’s self-watering and will be out of reach of most pests too!

1 stars out of 5 Not worth the effort

by CAROLE

I bought 2 of these last year thinking they would look interesting from the pergola. No problem at all planting it up, but because it has to go so very high up it was extremely difficult to water. When you do manage to get any water in the top hole it starts seeping out of the sides and bottom so if you are not careful you get soaked. I persevered for the whole season and the yield was very poor. I grew the same variety of tomato in growbags and pots and they gave a much better yield.

1 stars out of 5 I'm surprised this item is still on sale

by Mrs Spencer

We bought it last year and found it very fiddly to set up and very flimsy. The side seams were flimsy and split on the second watering. The watering strip rotted in the sun (we are in Spain) in no time at all and the plastic water deposit started cracking and watering was a fiddle too. All in all, expensive and poor quality, really not worth the hassle. Tomatoes planted in pots grew perfectly and I ended up taking this down and re-planting the seedlings in normal pots.

1 stars out of 5 Upside down planter

by Mrs canty

I paid full price for this item and am very dissapionted with it. The tomatoes that we also ordered from lakeland we split between the planter and a normal pot. The results are very different, the pot is thriving and the planter ones are dying. We keep checking and have now even taken the water trough out as it is basically not getting enough water. Unfortunately it seems too late to save them as they have turned yellow despite our best efforts. I would not recommend this expensive item to anybody!
