Tefal® Electric Jam Maker

Free delivery - free UK delivery when you buy this item.

Electrical jam maker, makes preserves and jellies in 3 easy steps with 6 programmes to choose from. Bowl is non-stick.

Thanks to Tefal, home-made jams, marmalades and jellies have become as easy as 1, 2, 3...

  1. Add the fruit, sugar and water;
  2. switch the Jam Maker on;
  3. then ladle into the jar in less than an hour.

We just couldn’t believe how simple this machine was to use – there’s no need for thermometers or constant stirring as this clever pot automatically does everything for you – in fact Rebecca from our Buying Team (who has never made jam before in her life) was very proudly giving away pots of her home-made marmalade to her colleagues after testing it! And because it makes a relatively small amount of jam quickly, you can whip up a few jars whenever you like – so you can make a real selection, instead of having to bottle batch after batch of strawberry jam!

There are six programmes to choose from: Traditional, which takes about 45 minutes; Vital, for jams that are lower in sugar content; Quick – super speedy preserves if you use jam sugar with added pectin; Juice Extraction – steams the fruit to remove the juice for jellies (there’s no need to strain through a jelly bag); and Desserts – makes wonderfully comforting rice pudding. And the sixth... an auto-clean function that makes washing the non-stick bowl a breeze – just run it under the tap, whilst everything else goes in the dishwasher.

Includes 3 x 250ml (8oz) jam jars, ladle, recipe/instruction book and an extra easy to follow instruction and recipe booklet(pdf 100k).

3 stars out of 5 How to wash it?

by A

I have hesitated for months over whether to buy this jam maker or not due to the reviews, especially relating to the instruction/recipe book(s). I took the plunge when the price dropped to £65 (thank you Lakeland - £100 seems far too expensive) and have been very successful in my first attempt at making strawberry jam apart from the fact I appear to have made strawberry toffee instead! I am hopeful however that a bit of experimentation will produce some reasonable results. But why oh why Lakeland have you not managed to sort out the appalling instruction situation? I appear to be better off than some - no multi language recipe books were delivered with my machine, but neither were any sensible instructions of any sort. And I am not referring to recipes, I am meaning simple basic instructions. Most products these days arrive with far too many instructions on <em class='sw'>ass</em>embly, pre-washing before first use, care of product etc but this has gone to the other extreme - this machine has nothing by way of care instructions. How do we use the auto clean function? All very well saying in the Q&A section what to do if not all of the residue is cleaned from the bowl - but some initial guidance on how much water to put in, should it be hot or cold, how much washing up liquid, should we put the lid on etc etc etc would be really helpful. Also, can we submerge the entire bowl in the washing up bowl if we want to use clean it that way, or do we have to keep water out of the base of it at all costs? I can't be the only one confused by this aspect of it can I? Or maybe there should be another instruction book in addition to the 2 recipe books which has been omitted from my parcel .....? Rating for ease of use (once I've conquered the recipe situation) 5*. Rating for instructions 0* = overall rating of 3*.

5 stars out of 5 What a product

by Joann Dickson

I brought this item 18 months ago, it's one of the best things I've ever brought from Lakeland. It makes perfect jam everytime and it's great to experiment with all the fruits that are available at this time of year. last year I gave away lots of Jams and Chutneys wrapped in lakeland Christmas cellophane and tags for Christmas presents to friends/Family.

5 stars out of 5 Jamlicious

by Mrs Luscombe

I was dubious about this gadget, but several good reviews persuaded me to take a chance; Thank goodness I did, I love the taste of homemade jam and I have plenty of home grown fruit to make it from. It takes all the guess work away and so far I have made perfect jam at every attempt, and the best bit, is that I can leave the machine to it, whilst I get on with preparing the next batch of fruit! This is not just another gimmicky gadget, it is the most brilliant, innovation you could add to any kitchen. No home fruit grower should be without one!
