Non-stick aluminium tarte tatin dish. 20cm dia. Suitable for all hobs excluding induction. Recipe included.

We’ve managed to track down the must-have mould for making Tarte Tatin, the classic French upside-down apple tart. The non-stick coated aluminium tin is especially thick to ensure even heat distribution as you caramelise sugar and butter on the hob. Once you’ve added the apples to the caramel, and topped with pastry, transfer to the oven, and bake to golden perfection. It really is wonderful, and you could also ring the changes with savoury ingredients.

fab little baker/roaster

This is actually a very useful little tin. I didn't buy it for it's actual stated use - though I have tried it as such, but as an all purpose, hefty, non-stick tin. I have used it on the hob - just use a silicone mitt or mat to grip. I have cooked everything from chicken fillets & chops to a cake, great for reheating leftovers. Even heat distribution, cooks evenly as it's round, a doddle to clean and it's small! Highly recommend.

needs handles

Gave 3 stars only because of the danger of burns - pity as it makes lovely tarte tatin, but needs handles!!! Very difficult and potentially dangerous to handle without - just add handles and its perfect. As for size - fine for small family
