A message from Ian, the store manager: If you're travelling to Lakeland in Exeter for a specific product, please telephone us beforehand on 01392 211136 to check availability.

Please note: We're sorry we are not quite looking our best, but rest assured we are still open during our essential maintenance. We look forward to you visiting us soon.

Welcome to the Southwest. If you are travelling to Exeter by car, we do have plenty of parking available in the city centre. Princesshay, Southernhay and Harlequins car parks are all just a short walk from the High Street, plus, if like to stroll we also have the Quay and Cathedral car park off of Western way. This is a great place to explore the Quay and riverside area from but is around a ten minute up hill walk to the City Centre. Don't forget Exeter has several park and ride services available on the edge of the city, accessible from which ever direction you may arrive.

Arriving by train? Exeter central station is very close, just a few minutes walk from our store. Exeter St David's requires a steep up hill walk, or use one of the frequent bus services that run from the front of the station to the High Street.

Lakeland Exeter is in the heart of the busy High Street and city centre. There are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants nearby for a welcome break and also the splendour, peace and tranquility of the Cathedral and its green just a 3 minute walk from our front doors. The historic Guildhall - base to the Lord Mayor of Exeter - is also just a couple of minutes away and well worth a visit (it is the oldest municipal building in the UK still used for council meetings).

Our store (at 227 High Street) was originally built as a home for a wealthy merchant around 1650. Later used as a dwelling house for judges and Mayors, most of its life it has been used for retailing and is listed in many history books as 'The House of Ross'. Look carefully at the frontage and you will see coats of arms of the many Guilds that the store once supplied goods to. The wonderful façade covers the full height of the original five storey building. Inside we have two floors of creative kitchenware and more to tempt you with. We do have a lift to our first floor or just ask any of team and we will be glad to help you find what you need.
