You don't often associate nimble fingers with oven gloves do you?
These ambidextrous gloves are knitted in soft, flexible, Du Pont™ Nomex® III, the same material used to protect firefighters from intense heat. They have been proven effective up to a scorching 350°C (well above the limit reached in domestic ovens) and afford dependable protection from painful burns.
We're offering both a standard gauntlet and, by popular demand, a longer length style that gives even more protection from hot oven sides.
DuPont™ and NOMEX® are registered trade marks or trademarks of DuPont or its affiliates.

Fantastic, finger wiggling, fireproof!
by Nicola
I was given a pair of the gauntlets last year as I was prone to burning my arms when baking. Not any more! I find them easy to use, much more so than oven mitts or folded tea towels as you have full dexterity, and would never go back to regular heat proofing for hands. Occasionally if I am in a hurry or have wet hands, (they are harder to put on when hands are wet) I use one tea towel style to lift the lid off a pan or similar, but generally wear them. They are also invaluable for barbecuing (turning skewers etc) as they protect arms from the heat while you're turning items at the back of the BBQ.
We like them so much we keep giving them to friends as house warming/birthday presents!

Effective, but cumbersome
by Kirstine Oswald
A pair of the shorter length gloves lie languishing in a drawer for, although they are effective, they are so inconvenient and slow to pull on and off that I never use them. Oven gloves need to be able to put on and off in a trice. I also think that the new silicone gloves have an advantage over fabric in that they remain heatproof when wet and after washing dry in a trice.

Throw down the gauntlet
by Wendy
I am now on my third pair of the shorter length gauntlets and they are very functional. However, the longer gauntlets languish, unused, as no one in my family can get them on in under fifteen minutes. We all have small hands so I don't think that's the problem. Pity
