Best jars available - a great investment by Martin

5 stars out of 5

6 Preserving Jars

I have been using Le Parfait jars for over 12 years now and can unreservedly recommend them to everyone. They are suitable for pretty much everything you can use a jar for, storing dry goods, flour, sugar, pulses etc, any kind of preserving, jams chutney etc, or even to store screws and nails (though a bit expensive for that!).
They look good, with the Le Parfait name embossed in the glass, and are tough and durable, and should last a lifetime. (I'm as bemused as other reviewers on here by the way at the stories of jars breaking. I have had just one casualty in all this time, and that was due to me bashing the jar against a tap.)
The gaskets last well and are quite reuseable, but they can take on the flavour of the contents. I find this is not an issue for dry goods or sweet preserves, but anything using onions/vinegar/spices/fish can be a problem. So I tend to keep any used gaskets in two seperate containers, one for "sweet", and one for "other", and re-use accordingly. I always have a
stock of replacements, of course.
There are cheaper versions of these jars out there, but the metal fixings are inferior and the glass is not as thick and heavy. Don't waste your money.
So there you have it. A real 5 star product.

Excellent storage jars by J H

6 Preserving Jars

I have several of these that I use for food storage in the pantry (flour, rice, pulses etc). They are terrific jars and I have never had any problems with them. I have also used them in the past for preserving without any problems. They seem very robust to me. Just bought 6 more.
