Poorly manufactured.” by Chris
The lids do 'fit' the jars, but not in a firm way that gives full confidence in an airtight seal. One of my twelve lids failed to seal at all and slipped clockwise continuously.
A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. The buyer has advised: The lids are twist off lids which should be turned until they feel tight and the plastic seal will then make the jar airtight. The tightening mechanism is different to that of a machine filled jam jar. I'll be in touch shortly to help.
jam jar lids!” by audrey munro
i recently bought these gingham lids after much thought, as i had read all the reviews other customers had written, just incase they were no good i also bought the plain white lids as well. I need not have worried because all the coloured ones fitted perfectly, and not one of them leaked, so i was very happy with them and my jars looked great!
Perfect!” by Joseph
I have just made my first batch of Jam & Marmalade and bought all my preserving equipment from Lakeland. I was unsure of these lids due to other reviews however I should not have worried! I purchased the 1lb jars and these wonderful gingham lids fit perfectly! I simply pop a wax disc on top of the hot preserve (not really necessary when using screw on lids but I like to use them anyway!) and I screw the lid on tightly while the jars are still hot. Cannot recommend these lids highly enough. Once again; thank you Lakeland!
