5 stars out of 5 A great help to Singletons

by elizabeth

I love my slow cooker, I fill him up with ingredients on an evening and by morning he has made a lovely soup or stew to take to work in my Stanley food flask, or I fill him up in a morning and he has my dinner ready for me when I get home. And if I'm ultra organised he'll do both! It's so nice to come home to cooked meal especially as a single person, as when I get in from work (often late) my desire to cook a meal from scratch just for me is often wilting. It's also a healthy way to cook as there is no fat required in the recipes. I actually find he does more like 2-3 portions depending on what I'm making and what I'm having with it. So 3 portions if accompanied by a starch or 2 without. Seen as I'm out or asleep whilst he works his wonders I have only used the auto mode and it has never left any of my dinner over cooked. As I'm vegan when I go on to my friends and families about how great Harold the Slow Cooker is, they often ask if I'm loosing out on nutrients as veggies don't 'need' slow cooking in the same way cheap cuts of meat do, but I think most of the nutrients must go into the liquid in the recipe and your consuming that as well (not like overcooking brocilli in boiling water). So far I've made pasta sauce, chilli, soups, stews and adapted any kind of recipe I have thats a bit saucy. I've found this better than the specific vegan slow cooker recipe book I bought but didn't like (lots of 'fake' ingredients. But I'm sure there are good normal or vegetarian slow cooker recipe books/sites out there). I think this is an amazing bit of kit and a real bargain for £20, I've gone on about it so much my friends have been tempted to get one too!

5 stars out of 5 Fab little pot!

by Fiona

This is great I never had used a slow cooker until I got this one. I have used it to make meals before I go out for the day and it is great to come home to the smell of home cooking & a hot meal! I have also used it to leave hot meals for my disabled father who does not have a microwave to reheat a hot meal in the middle of the day. It holds the correct temperature perfectly. Really easy to use and clean just the perfect size for 2 to 3 people.
