Food with friends
There's nothing lovelier on a hot summer day than lighting the barbecue and getting together with family and friends for a flame-grilled feast! Food tastes better outside and on the following pages you'll find all the 'ingredients' for a summer of alfresco dining.
- 2 large red onions
- 500g rump steak, sliced thinly
- 60ml teriyaki sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 2 spring onions, sliced finely
- 1. Cut each onion into 12 wedges and thread onto 6 skewers with the beef.
- 2. Combine sauce, paste, garlic and sugar then brush mixture over skewers. Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
- 3. Cook under a grill or on a barbecue until browned all over and cooked to preference.
- 4. Serve sprinkled with spring onion.
