In the first year of publishing our Lakeland Magazine for iPad, we had lots of fantastic feedback and were very proud when the Digital Magazine Awards chose us as their 2012 winner of the Food and Drink Magazine of the Year. We were up against some very stiff competition so it came as a lovely surprise to win!
Recognised for excellence in the 'Best Household Product' category, we were simply delighted to scoop the Gold Award for our Dry:Soon 2-Tier Heated Tower Airer. We were shortlisted with some big brands like Tefal, DeLonghi and Magimix, so we were really excited to take the top spot!
Even more exciting than winning one House Beautiful award was winning a second! It was a huge honour to be awarded Gold for our PushPans – an innovation that's exclusive to Lakeland.
Bringing together the entire gifts and home industry, 'The Greats Awards' are the accolades to strive for. We're really proud of our gift range, and the Rayner brothers couldn't have been more thrilled to accept this award on behalf of all at Lakeland.
Lakeland was placed joint first out of 100 high street retailers in Which's High Street Shops Survey, June 2010. Gaining 5 stars for our service and quality of product, we were just pipped at the post, but we were proud as punch to have beaten many big high street names, such as John Lewis and Marks & Spencers.
Our website was placed 4th out of 78 online shops overall - but in our category, we came 2nd. The Which? survey added "Lakeland.co.uk in particular has been highlighted by members for its willingness to go beyond their expectations."
Out of 75 big brands rated for their customer service, we came 4th, with 5 stars across the board for making customers feel valued, our product knowledge, communication skills and how we deal with issues. Competing with major brands much larger than our own, such as Waitrose, Amazon, Apple etc, we're pleased our dedication to customer service has resulted in such confidence.
Shortlisted with Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Next and Argos, we were delighted to be given the Silver award for Best Online Retailer of the Year.
Not one, but two Gold accolades were awarded to us from our industry peers at the prestigious Britain's Best Retailer Awards, organised by the much-respected Housewares Magazine.
The judges commented that they thought our website does everything right: "it looks superb, it's very easy to navigate, and if you're a cookery enthusiast, then this is like having a chat with another cookery enthusiast."
For the third year running we won the much coveted Best Multiple Housewares Retailer, the judges noting that Lakeland "have always got an eye out for something innovative", "they listen to their customers and if the customers aren't happy they'll do something about it", One judge even said: "My view of a good product is, has it been listed by Lakeland?"
