Handle
by Lyn Mills
We loved this pot and it looks great on the worktop, but it only lasted a week because my husband used the handle to pick it up and the pot 'fell' out of it into our stone sink and shattered to pieces. We are ordering another one and will try to be careful this time, but wished we'd thought to keep the lid since others seem to have trouble with that!

Lovely pot but watch the lid
by Mrs christine monahan
I was bought a Lakeland compost crock last Christmas. It looked lovely in my white kitchen. On a trip to the compost bin outside my back door the handle of the pot suddenly came away from the pot. Unfortunately the pot smashed into several pieces. It also cracked a tile on my utility room floor. If you do buy one do not carry it with the handle!! A shame but its safer.

Elegant but fragile
by Sophie Clissold
I loved the look of this crock and was pleased to welcome it to the kitchen worktop. However unfortunately I never trusted the handle to carry it out to the garden compost as the handle was gently hooked onto the crock which is quite heavy. Result was an awkward armful of crock whilst battling with the back door and then the compost bin lid.
The final downfall was the lid which proved slippery and fragile. Glued it back together but in the end decided that this was impractical and we now have an enamelled bucket. Not as smart but robust.
I was pleased to see replacement lids are now available but would still recommend this only for households with careful cooks.
