Disappointing quality

I purchased this product several years ago and was extremely happy with it until it developed a terrible clicking noise and stopped working - the knob turns but the bands don't move. It has since been consigned to the back of the cupboard.
I have now reverted to my previous jar opening technique of using a rubber band. It's less fiddly to apply, never fails to work (unless the band snaps!) and takes up no space at all in the drawer.

I have just ordered my second super-grip jar opener. The first I had for several years and it would be going strong still if I had broken it attempting to open a paint tin! Though it is bulky and a bit fiddly it is the only thing which will open really tight fruit spread jars without damaging the lid.

Does the job.

Good if you have trouble gripping, as long as you can still turn the key on top. It will deal with a good range of jar sizes but is quite bulky as a result. That said, it makes light work of the tightest lid.
