Poaching Panby Michael McLean

4-Cup Egg Poacher

I bought this at the beginning of December but because of moving, haven't had the chance to use it till a couple of months ago. I'm really not happy with it. Despite oiling, white adheres to the cup. The pan itself appears to have gone in to meltdown mode despite being used only over a moderate heat. The cup container is lightweight and an absolute pain in the rear to clean. In my view, this item is overpriced rubbish. However, it is only out of many excellent items that I've bought at Lakeland and I've never received anything but first class service from them.

at last a proper poached eggby Mary

4-Cup Egg Poacher

This poacher is good. Grease cups before adding egg, then just run blunt blade round rim & egg comes out perfectly. I agree it will not take a large egg but medium are fine. Pan useful for sauté etc especially with lid. Very pleased with this item.

Not so good this time Lakeland!by Mrs Spink

4-Cup Egg Poacher

I am very disappointed with the egg poacher that I have received. Where to start? The trim fell out of the lid handle when I unpacked it. The insert is distorted, consequently it wobbles and doesn't fit the base. Therefore the egg pans are at irregular heights so the lid won't fit properly. In my case there is no point in having a hole in the lid because it is so ill-fitting. Finally, back to the distorted insert which is poorly finished and is sharp along the edges. This was such a disappointment.

Stressless poaching!by Mrs Patricia Bernie

4-Cup Egg Poacher

I find this egg poacher very satisfying to use. The cups are suitable for large eggs and I can see through the lid when they are nearly done, so then I turn off the heat. Sometimes I don't use fat at all and they come out well. Unfortunately 'someone' broke the knob on the lid so I am hoping Lakeland can supply a spare!

Bad designby Mr Graham Griffiths

4-Cup Egg Poacher

I buy from Lakeland because the stuff is generally of good quality and design. But I felt I had to say something about this egg poacher. Yes the quality is good although the underside of the egg holder is a little sharp and could ultimately end up damaging the non stick pan. My main gripe is about the design, you would not deliberately place the handles of the egg holders over the steam outlets. However if you place the handles away from the steam outlets as soon as you place the lid on it pushes the handles directly over the steam outlets. Either the lid needs to be higher or the holes in a different place. Regards Griff

Not for large eggsby Carolyn Tiley

4-Cup Egg Poacher

We have a B&B so hassle-free egg cooking is a top priority for us. We buy free range eggs which for some reason are always quite big - unfortunately the poacher compartments are not big enough and unless you are really really precise (and sometimes even if you are) nearly the whole egg white gets sucked into the pan through the little holes. This means that you then get egg white stuck on the wrong side of the pods and underneath the metal insert. And that is not in the slightest bit non-stick. It would be great if the pods were just a little bit bigger or at least tested so there could be a guidance note to advise that large eggs simply don't fit. It works fine if the eggs are smaller so I would recommend buying one if you use small eggs.

4-Cup Egg Poacher

This product is robust and versatile. I have used it at least once a week for 9 months and it is still in the same condition. I have not experienced any problems at all. Eggs come out VERY easily; I spray the cup with low fat spray oil and get them out with a rubber spatula. I love the fact you can also use it as a frying pan which saves on cupboard space.

4-Cup Egg Poacher

We are so impressed with the poacher, we are now buying one for our daughter who uses vinegar and not enjoying them. It cooks quickly and perfectly, with a knob of real butter in the cups, the eggs fall out. She is in for a real treat!

So far, so good!by Mike McLean

4-Cup Egg Poacher

Despite a couple of negative reviews, I decided to buy this poacher because I got very tired of the "egg in vinegary water" method (who, really, can spend their lives getting eggs so fresh that they hold together?). So far, so good. Delighted with the design, the non - stickiness of the cups, and the end result. If you follow the guidlines properly - and goodness knows, they're simple enough - you'll end up with the perfectly poached egg.

4-Cup Egg Poacher

After having to finally throw away my metal cupped poacher of many years I have now found an excellent replacement. I was despairing of finding one as nowadays they all seem to have plastic cups which are useless. This poacher is wonderful and cooks eggs to perfection without the need to grease the cups as well has having a small non-stick sautee/frying pan. Well worth the money.

Great value for moneyby Rachel

4-Cup Egg Poacher

If you like your eggs poached evenly all the way through, its worth leaving them to sit for a moment after you've taken them off the heat, as it does seem to cook them faster on the outside and leave them a little sloppy in the middle. But for the price, this is one of the nicest egg poachers I've come across. My only complaint is, despite being very careful with it, the non stick on the pan has managed to get scratched after less than a week of owning it. My last pans lasted over 10 years without a scratch, so its not that I don't know how to look after non stick products!

perfect eggs and healthy!by Carmen

4-Cup Egg Poacher

I was a bit unsure at first to spend this much money on a poacher, but it was worth every peny. The pan is very durable and the lid fits snuggly allowing steam to pass through evenly ensuring the eggs cook equally. The pan is multi purpose and can be used for frying. My only regret is that I have moved house and installed an induction hob so can no longer use it. It would be great if Lakeland can find an equally perfect pan for induction hobs.
