Disappointed with results”
I have used various sizes of Lock and Lock boxes for a few yeas now so know how good they are at keeping food fresh. I bought one of these boxes to keep a loaf or two, made in my machine, fresh after letting the loaf cool completely first of course. I am disappointed as the bread though kept fresh for days is very soft and not crisp at all. I also find that the bread gains a different taste while it is in the box, the taste is not nice. I have reverted to wrapping loaves in cotton tea towel as I did before. This is not ideal as loaves go stale more quickly. Maybe a bread bin would be better.

Is a simple box really, no frills, not very attractive but keeps the bread fresh and you see what you have left. Simple to clean, what else can I say? Try it!

yes, these boxes are great and i have used many different sizes, but please why can't we have a large deep round size to fit extra large celebration cakes in? eg Christmas cake/Birthday. But BRILLIANT other wise

9 litre lock & lock bread box”
I use mine as a salad/veg store in the bottom of my fridge. Because of the slatted tray in the bottom, it drains any moisture away and keeps all vegetable, including lettuce, fresh for weeks. Invaluable!!

Exactly what I needed for bread storage. Make my own bread due to being diabetic so was highly delighted when I found that the homemade bread stays fresh for ages (had part loaf in for over a week (so far that's longest). Super value for money as costs less than breadbin which does not keep bread fresh. Thanks again Lakeland!

I went into Lakeland looking for a Bread bin for my new kitchen & a sales assistant recommended this one. Well it's been great - the best bread bin that I've ever had! Not too big - not too small fits a full size loaf in & a few bread rolls. If you have a big family then yes it might not do but great for me. Hygienic & looks good and keeps my bread fresh too!

I originally bought it for my home-made bread but now use it for storing my vegetables such as broccoli and cauliflower in the fridge.

They really work!”

I have a couple of the Lock and Lock boxes and they do what they say they do! Yes I've tested by filling with water and tipping up and down, not a drip. I actually bought this size to store cakes and they keep perfect freshness. Same for the smaller one I use for crackers. Brilliant. Interesting though that other reviews have said the box is not big enough for a loaf as I thought about buying another for that purpose, but might hold fire - reviews are most helpful thanks!

Good but needs to be bigger!”
by Mr Lewis
This Lock & Lock Bread box is pretty good but if your wanting to put normal whole sliced or unsliced loaves in it you'll be disappointed. This box is too short for the bog standard sized loaf. It needs to be at least 6 to 8 inches longer. As many previous reviews have mentioned perhaps Lakeland could look into obtaining a larger standard sized loaf Lock & Lock container. It does lock and seal well and keeps my loaf fresh for a good 6 days. However, to fit a normal loaf inside I have to remove it from the bag it comes in and stack inside this bread box two slices deep side by side.

Not recommended for long loaf”
I love all the Lock & Lock boxes and they work very well the only problem I have with this one is that my loaves don't fit in it, I make all my own bread and have several different tins but none fit in this box without cutting them in two. Perhaps Lakeland can recommend a bread baking tin?

A note from the team: Thanks for your review on the Lock & Lock bread box. We've passed your idea for a bigger bread box to out buying team.
Although the Lock & Lock works well it must have been designed for cut bread or small loaves. The bakers bread I buy will not fit without cutting end off. Bloomer, danish etc are just too long. The box would be ideal if it was longer.

A note from the team: Thanks for your valuable feedback. We've given your suggestion for a longer bread box to our buying team.
After reading the reviews for various bread bags (plastic, cotton, etc.), most of them not great, I went for this container. I use it for home-made bread (bread maker machine). It's not the most attractive thing on the countertop, but I found it keeps a loaf soft and fresh for a week even when it's been cut. I don't know if it makes a difference but I let the bread cool completely before putting it in the box. Highly recommended.

Lock and Lock bread box.”
I have used it to store my bread and rolls in. Loved it at first as it locked everything in and kept everything fresher for much longer. However, one on the plastic lips came off mine recently so hopefully the air wont start coming in now.

I use this for bread and rolls when on holiday in our caravan. It keeps them fresh and I don't have to worry about crumbs in the cupboards.

I use this for storing the family's biscuits, they all like different ones so I have loads of open packets, airtight and easy to use/clean.
