So far have used this to cook burgers and sausages on the grill, and a whole chicken (spatchcock using the roasting rack). Really lovely juicy results. Don't try cooking any veg in the moat without foil, it really does stick! Cleaning wasn't a problem with the dishwasher, although I washed the non-stick cooking tray by hand. Didn't use the 'cobble stone' as wanted a fuel that I could add more if I wanted a longer burn time. Found an alternative fuel Briquettes purchased on an internet site with a similar composition to the stone and really clean burn with little left over ashes.

Fantastic product. Light to carry onto the beach. Cooks beautifully. Cobblestone is biodegradable. So pleased.

Just bought this product hoping to use this w/end thought it came with charcoal sadly not from reviews i have seen. most recommended using cobblestone briquettes but since i can only buy them online i cannot get them till later yes i can use normal charcoal but most say not as good i would suggest putting in a couple of cobblestone as a starter pack looking forward to using it but not till i get the right briquettes
Thanks for the feedback, I'll be sure to pass your suggestion of adding a couple of cobblestones as a starter pack to the kit. The cobblestones can be bought separately ref 52652.

I bought one as a gift for our friends, and we all went out into the countryside to use it! Cobblestones easy to use (easier to light with a lighter than matches if windy!) Food was cooked very well and not blackened as there are no flames as with conventional BBQ. Very easy to pack up in handy carry bag - loved it! Take care when unpacking to use as there are 3 small black silicone bits which the cooking plate sits on - and these can be easily lost as just push into place. Overall, a great success and plenty space to cook for 4 people. Did a good job of heating bread in foil too!

Got our cobb from lakeland about 6yrs ago & we've collected a lot of the accessories since. It's a fab piece of kit as food cooks more evenly & doesn't burn compared to a trad bbq. It is so versatile and the cobblestones mean it is ready to cook with really quickly. It is a pain to clean or it was until cobb brought out the foil sleeves. Would love lakeland to stock these. It is so portable and recently we went to a family bbq and took this due to needing to cook gluten free items without being cross contaminated on their bbq. Highly recommended. Slightly different way to cook than traditional bbq
Thanks for the feedback. I'm pleased to say that we will be selling the disposable inner sleeves this summer (2016).

We have used our Cobb once and really don't like it. There is no way this could be described as a BBQ, as we were told. The chicken tasted ok but it just wasn't worth the hassle. It's a nightmare to clean and is now redundant, sitting at the back of the shed. I love Lakeland and have always loved everything I've purchased, so my review of this product is unusual. For me, this was a very expensive mistake. As we've used it, I don't feel I can take it back.
We're sorry to hear you've been disappointed with this product and that it's not met your expectations - we'll be in touch soon to help.

Finally got one and used it twice over the weekend when away in the motorhome. The compact size was very useful and it worked well. easy to clean and if you use the cobblestones, less weight and quick to start cooking. Not easy to start cobblestone with matches but v easy with a refillable lighter. food was cooked well and I'm looking forward to trying to bake on it. I bake a lot at home and am intrigued to see how it does. Cookbook has some nice and different recipes.
Thank you for placing your review. We're pleased to hear you're enjoying it. We do stock refillable lighters - you'll find them by searching product number 1114.

Since owning a Cobb our camping meals have been totally transformed from a fairly limited range of one pot meals or bbq burgers to the full spectrum of roasts, curries, rissottos, casseroles and even fresh baked bread every day. ONLY downside to it is the cleaning!!!!! Definitely not the easiest thing to clean, especially on campsites with only basic washing up facilities.....please please please Lakeland start selling the new foil liners that have been brought out for it to make it the PERFECT outdoor cooking system :-)
Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback, I'm glad to hear what a success the Cobb has been. I'll be sure to pass on your request for the liners.

Our Remoska went bang & looking for another we found the COBB. The greenest cooker on the planet. Does everything the Remoska does but without electric, its brilliant & portable. If you buy one, it's worthwhile buying some of the "Cobble Stones" as they are not supplied in the box. Also, invest in the BBQ roasting rack and the Dome Holder as it makes life easier. Just as an aside, contrary to some reviews on other shopping sites and camping forums, COBB are not going out of business and are going from strength to strength, so you will always have spares and advice available.

We have had our Cobb for about 3 years now and use it when we are away in our motorhome. This summer we decided to try roasting gammon joints on the Cobb and were just AMAZED by how easy this was and how great the results were. We picked a very ordinary gammon joint from the local supermarket, I used a soy and mustard glaze on it and we set it on the roasting rack, put the lid on and got on with our holiday fun. Two hours later we had the most amazingly succulent and tasty gammon joint. Effortless. Brilliant. Love it!

Just bought one of your COBB BBQ's but do not sell the briquettes for it - nor are there any in it to get you started. Disappointed - we've now ordered them online and can't use it until they arrive,
Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry that we don't sell the cobblestones but they are readily available from a number of retailers. Details can be found by typing Cobb Cobblestones into a search engine.

My friend and I have coveted one of these for ages. She got hers , we used it, I ordered mine that evening. I've cooked crispy pizza, burgers, sausages, corn on the cob, wedges. Heated up pan au chocolate and even baked a cake. There is nothing this BBQ can't do. Keeps cool to the touch, and the lid means you can cook in the wind and rain( I live in the north of Scotland, so this is very handy) Heats up quick and cools down fast. The only down side is, as I have no dishwasher the inner bowl needs a good scrub to clean. Have recommended to friends who have since purchased.

I have recently been in South Africa and purchased a Cobb BBQ. We purchased the fry pan and griddle -found both of these great for cooking sausages and prawns. We also successfully roasted a whole chicken, pork, beef and lamb joints, all very tender and juicy. We did find that by swapping foods on the griddle it lost its heat so need to heat it up between cooking. We used both briquettes and the cobb stone, the latter being far quicker to heat and cleaner. It is very easy to clean being able to wash all parts. It is neat to put away and so pleased that we have purchased one here!

This looked like a very good idea but we weren't able to buy the Cobblestones anywhere and ordinary charcoal briquettes just didn't work which was a real let-down on our holiday last year. I have now managed to get hold of some but haven't tried them yet but this might be the first time one of Lakeland's products has not lived up to what I expected so my rating is based on what happened in 2013

If you like your food 'chargrilled' straight from the coals then this isn't for you. It cooks beautifully (if a little slower) compared to the usual coal BBQ efforts that I have used which blast everything! I have only used it once so far but my wife says it lacks the 'crunchy' black crispy bits you get from cooking on a grill over the coals. Maybe didn't cook things long enough! Don't own a dishwasher, so took sometime to clean as the marinate drips through into the 'moat' section and burns on. Waiting for a replacement foot as mine was delivered with one missing.
Thanks for placing your review. We're pleased to say that the replacement foot is on its way to you.

In the forest or on the beach or even at home on the back garden, I absolutely love this product. Not only does it bbq beautifully, it does an amazing and moist roast, especially chicken. going to get the accessories next. Well done Lakeland.

We bought the Cobb BBQ to use on camping trips with our camper van. It has proved perfect for us. We can roast on it as well as barbecue. It is compact in size and easy to clean. It packs away in its own bag making it convenient for storing in the van. The design ensures that the base stays cool so that it can be used on grass or a picnic table. We used the Cobbette fuel that is designed to go with the BBQ but we are going to try normal charcoal briquettes next time because each Cobbette lasts about 2 hours and we rarely need them to last that long. Highly recommended for campers.

This is the best BBQ I have ever used. No flare ups, heats up quickly and cooks so evenly and beautifully. My other half isn't keen on BBQ but even he loves food cooked on a Cobb. Being able to smoke on it is a bonus - we've tried salmon and duck, the latter being the tenderest duck breast we've ever cooked. Cleans like a dream, packs away neatly, what more could you want!

I saw this a while ago, but was talked out of buying it by my sceptical husband who said that it would be another gadget languishing unused in the garage. Having wrestled our huge gas BBQ out of the shed just once all summer, I was convinced that I would get more use out of something much more portable and compact. After much 'gentle persuading' over the last week we finally went to Lakeland yesterday and bought a Cobb and roasting rack. 2 hours later we were eating succulent chicken drumsticks under the awning in the pouring rain. Today we are roasting lamb and hubby is eating his words!
