Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup

I bought these as a special treat and was looking forward to using them when friends came for dinner. I made a big show of putting them in flutes and topping with champers only to be rather embarrassed and very disappointed when they just sat in the bottom of the glasses and hardly opened at all. The remainder went in the bin and at the price they were a complete waste of money. Fortunately, my guests thought it funny but I didn't.

Disappointed!!by Miss Jones

Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup

When I saw these flowers I thought wow these look really good for Christmas day the family will love them. I even told 2 people at work about them and they asked me to order some for them aswell. In total I bought 4 jars. I was very disappointed when I put them in the glass poured the bubbly over and waited for the flowers to open up which they didnt they just sat in the bottom of the glass and looked more like a sea urchin than a flower. They did however turn the champagne pink which was really nice. I got back to work and my friends were just as disappointed as me. £10 NOT well spent!

Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup

I brought these to use at Christmas as the family would be there and I like to do something different each year, I saw these in store and thought they would be perfect for the occasion. I gathered everyone one round and followed the instruction and we waited and waited and yes the drink did change colour but as for the flower opening up it never happened it just sat in the bottom of the glass looking pretty horrid. The flower at the end was eaten but I struggled to find the flavours that where supposed to be there, all in all I think this very expensive and does not do as said.

I purchased two of these flowers for christmas presents and waited to see the surprise on the recipients faces as the flowers unfolded, no joy all we got was a slight unfurl at the bottom of the glass; a shame as they looked very good and intriguing in the jar and tasted very good

Meal time Fun!by Arnetta

Great way to add a little more zest to a special meal. We put ours in non-alcoholic sparkling juice and it worked very well - just need to remind everyone that the flowers are edible!

Been buying these for years. Instant hit in the bottom of a Champagne glass; kids will beg to eat the flower; and you can serve cheap champagne, 'cos no-one will know!

These are a lot of fun, really. They look just as good in real life as they do in the catalogue, and you can eat them afterwards. But the drawback is they are very expensive. Otherwise, a win win.

Absolutely love these hibiscus flowers. Taste wonderful in both cava and champagne and perfectly edible once the bubbly has run out!

I bought these as I thought they would be a nice idea for the xmas day bubbly - Im afraid they didnt have the desired effect! They didnt open up and looked rather like a blood clot in the base of the glass - ugh!! Definately a big MISS with our family :(

Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup

Wild Hibiscus flowers in syrup are Excellent for enhancing the flavour of Cava, Champagne, Sparkling wine, and even lemonade for those that don't drink alcohol. They add an extra special touch to any occasion. Our guests enjoy watching the flowers open and once they have finished their subtle pink drinks the flowers with their beautiful rhubarb/raspberry flavour can be eaten. They make fabulous gifts and are great for stocking fillers too.

Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup

I bought this product to use in champagne for our wedding anniversary. They were a great talking point as the fizz turned a delicate shade of pink and the flowers began to open out. A little on the pricey side I thought but ok for a once in a while treat - much like the champagne!!

I sent these to the US as a present and my sister-in-law had a similar problem to Caterina, she did enjoy the taste however, hopefully it was a one-off as I'm going to get some more.

Wild Hibiscus Flowers in Syrup

Bought these flowers for New Year's Eve, and was a bit disappointed. They look lovely on the picture, but the flower in itself was tiny..only about 1 cm and was difficult to spot in the champagne glass. A nice touch, but I had to point the flower out to my guests otherwise they would have missed it. Still like the idea though.

We used these on our wedding day for the evening toast. The flowers taste nice and give a lovely colour to the champagne. Have got a few left over I am saving for Christmas!

This makes any fizz extra special and lifts even inexpensive wine to another level. It's an especially nice touch at an engagement or wedding party. I sneaked a jar and a bottle of champagne into the honeymoon suite after a friend's wedding, and he and his partner were delighted.

You may think that they are rather overpriced but if your having a special meal then these are going to impress your friends. Just put them in the glass and add some Carva or any fizzy drink and they are amazing. Taste lovely too.
