Leaking twist off lids”
by Mr Waller
I bought 12 of these lids, and unfortunately over tightened one of them. Sure enough it leaked and would not seal. The problem was solved by gently pinching the over stretched rim with a pair of pliers. works great!

Gingham Twist off Lids”
I have recently bought about 10 dozen of these lids and for the most part they have been very good, but the packet I opened yesterday had two lids which failed and I ended up wearing a jar of very hot jam. I would suggest that anyone using them does so with the expectation that they just might not hold just to be on the safe side. The offending lids went in the bin. I will continue to buy this product and just be a little more cautious.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review and speaking with us today. We're pleased everything is fine. Thank you also for your helpful suggestion when placing the lids on the jars.
excellent never had a problem”
I have used many of these lids and also the white ones and never had a problem with leaks or ill fitting, I think the key to a good fit is to tighten them when the contents is hot and to check them again when it has gone cold.

Perfect and look very professional”
by Mrs Bridge
Made my 1st batch of marmalade last night and used these lids. Didn't have a problem sterilising them and no issues with tightening the lids either. Was very satisfying to hear that pop earlier today when having marmalade on my toast

I bought these lids for the 8oz Lakeland jam jars. They all fitted perfectly and I now have a shelf full of Christmas mincemeat waiting for the moment to make mince pies!

They Worked a Treat”
by Deborah McAndrew
I had seen the various reviews on here and was a little bit worried. But I needn't have been as they worked a treat and I've even re-used some (with the addition of the waxed circles) and they worked second time just as well as the first. In fact I've just ordered some more.

Becoming utterly frustrated”
I am now on my fourth batch of replacement lids and have, once again, lost a batch of jam as not one of the 12 replacement set of lids works. Although I am still being painfully polite on the phone, I am becomng utterly frustrated at the suggestion I am using 'incompatable' jars...they are your jars! Also the comment that no-one else has had a problem.....I have previously used these lids without problem, I must have 50+ that are years old and still work perfectly. However, I am now 12lb of jam down, countless calls in and still don't have lids that fit my, once again, empty jars.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. I'll be in touch shortly to help and to arrange for the lids to be returned to Lakeland for further investigation.
I have just made my first batch of Jam & Marmalade and bought all my preserving equipment from Lakeland. I was unsure of these lids due to other reviews however I should not have worried! I purchased the 1lb jars and these wonderful gingham lids fit perfectly! I simply pop a wax disc on top of the hot preserve (not really necessary when using screw on lids but I like to use them anyway!) and I screw the lid on tightly while the jars are still hot. Cannot recommend these lids highly enough. Once again; thank you Lakeland!

jam jar lids!”
by audrey munro
i recently bought these gingham lids after much thought, as i had read all the reviews other customers had written, just incase they were no good i also bought the plain white lids as well. I need not have worried because all the coloured ones fitted perfectly, and not one of them leaked, so i was very happy with them and my jars looked great!

The lids do 'fit' the jars, but not in a firm way that gives full confidence in an airtight seal. One of my twelve lids failed to seal at all and slipped clockwise continuously.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. The buyer has advised: The lids are twist off lids which should be turned until they feel tight and the plastic seal will then make the jar airtight. The tightening mechanism is different to that of a machine filled jam jar. I'll be in touch shortly to help.
