Bought this funnel along with the jam jars you market. Unfortunately the neck that fits in the jars is slightly too large making it unsteady when in use. Using in conjunction with very hot liquids could cause problems if not careful. Otherwise a useful product.

Good but didn't fit...”
Used for the first time this evening, this was great. My homemade Christmas mincemeat slid down the non-stick funnel into the jars no problem. However, I was using a range of jar sizes & this did not fit my 5cm jars as stated on the product description. It just sat ontop of the jar, rather then inside the jar, so was not secure when doing my 5cm jars, leaving a bit of mess. I had a 5.5cm jar which it fit perfectly (no room for movement). I've not noticed anyone else mention this in their reviews so I'm confused as to why mine didn't fit my 5cm jars!! Will cause me problems in the future!

Aaah - the dishwasher!”
by Patricia DOWNES
So now I know (having read all the reviews) - I shouldn't have put the funnel in the dishwasher! I still use it, of course - it is an indispensable piece of jam/marmalade-making kit, but it would be so much better were it coated with the same non-stick substance used in the Tefal Jam-Maker. When is the team going to come up with a solution? Lakeland has the clout to make things happen, as you have demonstrated many times over the years. Come on - we'd all like a dishwasher-proof version!!

I have had this item for over a year now and wouldn't be without it. I not only use it for jam making but also for transferring other items such as dry goods from packets into storage jars. Certainly recommend.

Great jam funnel - make it dishwasher proof though!”
by Mrs James
This is a great funnel that is perfect for chutneys in particular, because of its wide neck. It is strong and lightweight, but unfortunately not dishwasher-safe, as I found out to my cost when absent-mindedly clearing up after a mammoth chutney-making session. Good enough to buy another one though - just remember to wash by hand then it will last a lifetime!

Wonderful, but . . .”
I've had this funnel for a while now and it's fantastic, but . . . Please could you also bring out one with a narrower neck. So many jars now are just slightly too small for the funnel and balancing it on top is a most precarious business.

Multi Purpose ”
by C Jane
This is one of the most useful things I have bought. Use it for getting powders, pulses, office supplies, beads etc. into containers without spillage. Also great for transferring creamy deserts in to glasses for serving, no smears up the glass and a perfectly centred mouse or fool.

save on the mess”
I cannot believe how much mess this simple idea saves. It has loads of uses, not just jam makingNow all we need is a gadget to cut the peel for marmalade.

Essential Bird feeder filler”
I highly recommend this easy-fill funnel for filling tubular bird feeders; it gets the job done quickly with minimum mess. In the past, I've given gifts of bird feeding kits and have included one of these jam funnels with each. And yes, it's the handy "feeder" funnel that's been the most gratefully received.

Don't stop selling these”
by Elizabeth Moore
The jam funnel is a most useful piece of kit, and Lakeland is the only place that sells it, as I discovered when trying to get one in London in a hurry - nothing in other stores or any of the catering shops - please don't stop selling it! I'd better buy another couple of them just in case.

This is a great funnel for jams and pickles - and it's versatile too. I use it for all sorts of things. For pouring ingredients back into the pots/containers and for topping up bottles/jars - lentils- rice- flour- coffee- peppercorns- etc.
