Worth every penny!”
by Mrs Gaunt
The cool bag has a lovely soft outer and the inner is made up of a strange material that looks like shredded space/survival blankets (probably is!). Used it once so far for shopping. Hoping that it will keep food cold for a long time when used with ice packs. It is more expensive than other cool bags but I think it is worth the extra for the quality, and the Lakeland guarantee. It squashes up nice and small and doesn't have the plasticky feel associated with must cool bags. Hand washable for those inevitable leaks.

Have Cool Bag will Travel”
by Mrs Margaret Webb
We are driving round New Zealand and the Cool Bag is brilliant. It packed flat into a suitcase and travelling from motel to motel we just load everything from one fridge into it and the food keeps cool until we reach our next motel and unload straight into the next fridge. We can usually fit a few other bits in as well. Instead of ice blocks we partly fill a couple of used 500ml water bottles from the tap and pop them in the freezer compartment overnight.

The best cooler bag on the market”
We have used this bag for quite a few years and it is still as good as new. Traveling around the country, with 1 freezer pack inside with all our self catering fridge food, after 5 -6 hours the pack is still frozen and our food is cold. Can't ask for better than that. Highly recommended. As a previous reviewer stated, it would be great to have a smaller version of this too.

Bought this bag after seeing the amazing reviews , used it on a overnight stay and extremely unsatisfied and unimpressed with the lack of coldness. My fresh milk was no longer cold and everything else in the bag was not cool. Certainly not a cool bag I will use again.

Brilliantly effective lightweight cool bag”
Bought this cool bag for a 5 week touring trip in Australia. We were largely self catering so needed a bag to keep food cold in the car on the days we were travelling by road but it needed to be easy to pack down in our luggage when flying. This fit the bill perfectly, light, easy to squash into a suitcase but incredibly roomy when unfolded. It kept the food lovely and cold in the car boot in temperatures of 30 deg.C plus using ice packs and had no problems transporting meat, milk etc. At home it gets frequent use for holidays, picnics etc. Would love a smaller version for supermarket runs.

Wonderful bit of kit!”
I bought the Lakeland Cool Bag based on the website reviews and wasn't disappointed! I used it on a tandem tour in France and managed to keep fresh our supplies of food/drink. The refrigerated temperature of the items when we bought them was enough to chill the bag and we only used freeze blocks on a couple of days (hard to freeze them when camping!) Obviously you need to be careful on what you buy and how long you keep it for but for a couple of days at a time it was fantastic.

Lakeland Cool Bag”
I purchased this item to keep chilled food in the car, for those times I need to go somewhere else after visiting the supermarket. The cool bag is a good size and I can fit several items inside. The cool bag was put to the test last week during a hot day out, six hours later I still had a chilled bottle of water to drink. So all in all, the cool bag is a good size, keeps items cool for at least six hours, and I am really pleased with it.

My first cool bag in this range was grey with red handles! How old is that? When it was looking shabby I replaced it with present style. Still amazing. On the hottest day of the year a few years ago we brought back fish from France - kept very cold. Last year diabetic grandson needed to keep insulin cool on two day journey. Lakeland bag did the trick. Please please can we have a smaller version for those who really need it. I'm about to buy my third bag as old one is borrowed by grandchildren now to take food on long car journeys.

Ive had one of these for years and it is brilliant. Mine is very tatty now having been taken to bonfires over the years. It is so good it is like a little fridge. I used it last week full of chilled white wine which it kept perfect all evening. Great for buying icecream and frozen food, am confident to leave chilled food in it for hours. I ve asked for another one for xmas as there are times when two would be useful.

Excellent product - recommended”
by Mrs Flute
We have had one of these for more than 5 years. The zip is unreliable now & the interior is wearing thin. However, with the zip closed, it still works really well & we've been so pleased with it that we have bought another one. yes, they are pricey but last so long. When we go on holiday we have to take a lot of specialist food & never have a problem with it starting to defrost in less than 5 hours or even longer - even frozen peas!

Lakeland Cool Bag”
We have used cool bags for storing perishable food when lightweight camping for several years. This year we bought this Lakeland bag to replace an old faithful. Using plate style ice packs (Why don't Lakeland sell them?), it performed superbly. A light colour waterproof outer would be a help for our needs, but this was great! We will probably get a second.

Saved the day!”
I bought this 3 years ago and have used it to take food on holiday and picnics where it did the job. But I always thought I may have been a bit extravagant and perhaps could have managed with a cheaper bag. Well now it has more than earned it's keep. The fridge freezer died, I lost all the freezer conents and didn't want to buy a fridge until my impending house move is confirmed. This keeps cold blocks and food frozen for 24 hours and saved me around £150 for a temporary fridge, highly recommended!

Good at first”
by Mr Stanley
Bought this version a few years ago. It does keep its contents cool but has poor design 'features': The liner has nothing to keep it in shape and so the bag doesn't stand up when you're trying to fill it. Because the liner sags you can't pack it properly and so everything jumbles together when you pick up the bag. The handles are hopeless. The Velcro-fastened wraparound piece is fiddly to do up and even when you manage it, the hard edge of the Velcro digs into the palm which defeats the object. Finally the zip is not of the self-repairing variety and so now it's broken, the bag is useless.

Great for long journeys”
Purchased this cool bag on the review recommendations for our road trip to the USA. It was used all day and night with ice cubes placed in the Lakeland Soup/Sauce bags. On one occasion it was left in the car in the baking sun of Salt Lake City and we still had cold drinks and ice cubes. Only downside was that the bag condensated on the outside on some occasions, not sure why. Perhaps the condensation might stop if the outside was plastic rather than material. Excellent buy

I have used this bag many times over the past year and i have found it is brilliant. When travelling it will keep frozen food for a long journey and is brilliant for picnics food is like it is just out of the fridge. Love it for storing my shopping, bought at lunch time and not home until 6, still chilled. Would love it in lunch bag size.

This was delivered to me this week and used it today when shopping - it was fantastic, kept all the food really cold until we got home - even in the heat its been today. I'm planning on buying another one straight away. I often take frozen food to my son and daughter in law and this will be perfect. So good not to need frozen blocks either. Well done Lakeland - yet again you surpass yourselves.

Lakeland cool bag”
by Mary Wyatt
I've been very disappointed with this bag compared with the previous firmer tartan one. It is so soft it collapses when you're trying to pack it, and the zip is constantly catching in the fabric. For me, these two weaknesses outweigh the keeping cool qualities of the bag.

A note from the team: Thank you for placing your review. We're sorry to hear the cool bag has not met your expectations. We do have a another cool bag - 16134 Spots & Stripes Alfresco Large Cool Bag which has padded firmer sides and may be more suitable for your needs. We'll be in touch soon to help.

Good size of bag. Good quality and easy wipe clean on the inside. Only problem I have is that the bag is soft rather than rigid at the base so it "folds" around the food and things can spill. Apart from this I'm very pleased and would recommend.

Lakeland Blue Cool Bag”
by Mrs Janet Barnes
I have had this bag for a couple of years and it has been used MANY times! It is easy to wipe clean and put away - it keeps food really cold! The only things I would change are to have double zips that meet in the middle (already have a spotty one from Lakeland that does this) and to make the front pocket bigger, as it would be handy for napkins and spoons etc. Hope you don't mind me offering "suggestions?" Thankyou!
