Wonderful bit of kit!by Carolyn

The Lakeland Cool Bag

I bought the Lakeland Cool Bag based on the website reviews and wasn't disappointed! I used it on a tandem tour in France and managed to keep fresh our supplies of food/drink. The refrigerated temperature of the items when we bought them was enough to chill the bag and we only used freeze blocks on a couple of days (hard to freeze them when camping!) Obviously you need to be careful on what you buy and how long you keep it for but for a couple of days at a time it was fantastic.

The Lakeland Cool Bag

i thought this bag was a little expensive when buying it however it is worth every penny. it kept two packs of fresh mince cold all day while in the boot of the car when the temp was reading 27degrees outside.

The Lakeland Cool Bag

I purchased this item to keep chilled food in the car, for those times I need to go somewhere else after visiting the supermarket. The cool bag is a good size and I can fit several items inside. The cool bag was put to the test last week during a hot day out, six hours later I still had a chilled bottle of water to drink. So all in all, the cool bag is a good size, keeps items cool for at least six hours, and I am really pleased with it.

The Lakeland Cool Bag

My first cool bag in this range was grey with red handles! How old is that? When it was looking shabby I replaced it with present style. Still amazing. On the hottest day of the year a few years ago we brought back fish from France - kept very cold. Last year diabetic grandson needed to keep insulin cool on two day journey. Lakeland bag did the trick. Please please can we have a smaller version for those who really need it. I'm about to buy my third bag as old one is borrowed by grandchildren now to take food on long car journeys.

The Lakeland Cool Bag

Ive had one of these for years and it is brilliant. Mine is very tatty now having been taken to bonfires over the years. It is so good it is like a little fridge. I used it last week full of chilled white wine which it kept perfect all evening. Great for buying icecream and frozen food, am confident to leave chilled food in it for hours. I ve asked for another one for xmas as there are times when two would be useful.

The Lakeland Cool Bag

We have had one of these for more than 5 years. The zip is unreliable now & the interior is wearing thin. However, with the zip closed, it still works really well & we've been so pleased with it that we have bought another one. yes, they are pricey but last so long. When we go on holiday we have to take a lot of specialist food & never have a problem with it starting to defrost in less than 5 hours or even longer - even frozen peas!

The Lakeland Cool Bag

We have used cool bags for storing perishable food when lightweight camping for several years. This year we bought this Lakeland bag to replace an old faithful. Using plate style ice packs (Why don't Lakeland sell them?), it performed superbly. A light colour waterproof outer would be a help for our needs, but this was great! We will probably get a second.

Saved the day!by Susan

The Lakeland Cool Bag

I bought this 3 years ago and have used it to take food on holiday and picnics where it did the job. But I always thought I may have been a bit extravagant and perhaps could have managed with a cheaper bag. Well now it has more than earned it's keep. The fridge freezer died, I lost all the freezer conents and didn't want to buy a fridge until my impending house move is confirmed. This keeps cold blocks and food frozen for 24 hours and saved me around £150 for a temporary fridge, highly recommended!

Good at firstby Mr Stanley

The Lakeland Cool Bag

Bought this version a few years ago. It does keep its contents cool but has poor design 'features': The liner has nothing to keep it in shape and so the bag doesn't stand up when you're trying to fill it. Because the liner sags you can't pack it properly and so everything jumbles together when you pick up the bag. The handles are hopeless. The Velcro-fastened wraparound piece is fiddly to do up and even when you manage it, the hard edge of the Velcro digs into the palm which defeats the object. Finally the zip is not of the self-repairing variety and so now it's broken, the bag is useless.

Great for long journeysby Caroline

The Lakeland Cool Bag

Purchased this cool bag on the review recommendations for our road trip to the USA. It was used all day and night with ice cubes placed in the Lakeland Soup/Sauce bags. On one occasion it was left in the car in the baking sun of Salt Lake City and we still had cold drinks and ice cubes. Only downside was that the bag condensated on the outside on some occasions, not sure why. Perhaps the condensation might stop if the outside was plastic rather than material. Excellent buy

The Lakeland Cool Bag

I have used this bag many times over the past year and i have found it is brilliant. When travelling it will keep frozen food for a long journey and is brilliant for picnics food is like it is just out of the fridge. Love it for storing my shopping, bought at lunch time and not home until 6, still chilled. Would love it in lunch bag size.

The Lakeland Cool Bag

This was delivered to me this week and used it today when shopping - it was fantastic, kept all the food really cold until we got home - even in the heat its been today. I'm planning on buying another one straight away. I often take frozen food to my son and daughter in law and this will be perfect. So good not to need frozen blocks either. Well done Lakeland - yet again you surpass yourselves.

The Lakeland Cool Bag

I've been very disappointed with this bag compared with the previous firmer tartan one. It is so soft it collapses when you're trying to pack it, and the zip is constantly catching in the fabric. For me, these two weaknesses outweigh the keeping cool qualities of the bag.

A note from the team: Thank you for placing your review. We're sorry to hear the cool bag has not met your expectations. We do have a another cool bag - 16134 Spots & Stripes Alfresco Large Cool Bag which has padded firmer sides and may be more suitable for your needs. We'll be in touch soon to help.

The Lakeland Cool Bag

Good size of bag. Good quality and easy wipe clean on the inside. Only problem I have is that the bag is soft rather than rigid at the base so it "folds" around the food and things can spill. Apart from this I'm very pleased and would recommend.

The Lakeland Cool Bag

I have had this bag for a couple of years and it has been used MANY times! It is easy to wipe clean and put away - it keeps food really cold! The only things I would change are to have double zips that meet in the middle (already have a spotty one from Lakeland that does this) and to make the front pocket bigger, as it would be handy for napkins and spoons etc. Hope you don't mind me offering "suggestions?" Thankyou!

The Lakeland Cool Bag

I am costantly amazed at this little bag and it's ability to keep things cool! Today it got it's biggest test yet, due to a lack of organisation on my part, and passed with flying colours! I did a shop, which included filled ice cream cones, but remembered an appointment somewhere else. The cones sat in a warm car for an hour in this magic little bag, with no melting at all! Not even soggy wafer! How does it do it? It's brilliant!

The Lakeland Cool Bag

Deliberated over buying this bag as it's a bit pricey, but it's worth every penny so far. Big capacity and really does keep things cool for a very long time. Taking it on a first camping trip this weekend and think it will be a godsend. Don't hesitate if you're thinking of buying one.

the best everby Julie Sanderson

The Lakeland Cool Bag

I have had cool bag for a few years now and it still looks like new. Being stuffed with metallic shreddings, it is a very versatile bag that will allow you to pack enough for 6 people easily regardless of containers used. The fabric allows any shape to fit in as there are no rigid edges unlike other cool bags, and great for putting soft fruit/crisps on top without squashing them. During the recent heatwave, the cool bag was in the car for 6 hours in full sun and with just 2 cool packs inside, it kept the contents ice cold. It is lightweight to carry and goes flat for storage. Best buy ever.

The Lakeland Cool Bag

I live in Cyprus & have used my 3 cool bags for many years now. They are invaluable for shopping during our very long extremely hot summers, & they really do keep frozen food iced for hours at a time with just a large ice block in each one. Far more efficient than the standard picnic boxes. Also they hold such large quantities! The bags are so flexible they seem to absorb the different shaped packaging. Thanks for such a brilliant item.
