brilliant for beans!”
by Ruth Morrison
Read reviews for this and decided to give it a go. A brilliant little gadget and excellent value for money. Loved one reviewer's comment about if beans are too fat to fit they are not fit to eat!!

I started growing runner beans last year and had such a large crop, I thought it wise to purchase a tool for preparing them. With great scepticism I took the Krisk Bean Slicer out of it's packet and with bean in hand, I started to use it. Astonishingly easy and quick to use, I am still in awe of this tiny machine! If you have beans to slice, buy this! You will not be disappointed!

Perfect beans every time”
This little gem of a slicer is fab. My granny always manages to slice her beans by hand and they are perfect every time, however I have not mastered this skill. This slicer now gives me perfect sliced beans. Every kitchen should have one. Buy one, you won't be disappointed.

Easy to use and slices beans very well. Have recommended to a friend who purchased one too. A great idea.

There's a reason they've been making these since 1923”
With this simple little device, you top and tail your beans, slice them AND (most important of all) remove the stringy fibres from the edges of the pod. All quickly and easily. Don't let the low price and simplicity confuse you - this is a king amongst tools.

fantastic little machine”
by Mr Halfon
My friend gave me the slicer as a present. We like to cook and beans are my favorite vegetable, with this little machine I have found the best way to cook beans.

The very best bean slicer”
I've used other bean slicers but this one is by far the best particularly if you pick your beans at their best when young. Our first one blunted after 2 years but we were delighted to get another one from Lakeland.

Krsik Bean Slicer”
by Mrs Jackie Harrison-Knapp
My mother had one of these over twenty years ago, and I´ve used one ever since. They are just perfect for tender beans, and I am buying more in case my current one gets worn out, and also as Christmas presents for friends. I can´t recommend highly enough.

Makes food prep easier!”
This is a very useful gadget that has made my prep time so much quicker. I used to avoid buying beans because of the hassle but the Krisk slicer has allowed us to enjoy them again. Thanks!

Yup, the Keanu Reeves of bean slicers. Nothing else is worth buying and it's impossible to do without if you like string beans. Easily and quickly destrings both side and slices uniformly and neatly. Also handles quality control - if your beans are too fat to go through, they are too old and you should have picked them before!

Just what the doctor ordered”
Love this slicer - does home grown beans and shop bought, although the larger beans in the shop bought bag don't go through - still, who wants to eat old beans anyway? Really love the fact they they are all so uniform - no stringy bits and no sliced fingers ... huge bonus. Never really found the blood mingled with the beans added much to the taste!

I bought this a couple of days ago and wish I had found it years ago because it's brilliant! It is sharp so be careful - but that's good as it makes the cutting neat and quick. Very easy to use and de-strings properly. I can see this saving me hours of stringing and slicing in future. I don't normally go for gadgets, but I would really recommend this one.

Wow - fab gadget!”
Have always loved runner beans and previously used cube shaped one with blades which was great but didn't take off the 'strings' and does get blunt. Had this one since Christmas and it is brilliant. So easy and quick to use and does all my home grown beans. Everyone loves using it so therefore chores are done! Clever eh? Would recommend it to anyone and even my mum is now getting one.

A really simple idea but a great device that I wouldn't be without now. It tops and tails and then strings and slices all in one action. I just hope it lasts!

It's simple, it works!”
It is such a simple idea that is really efective at doing what it says. In a couple of minutes I can slice and get rid of those annoying stringy bits easily and quickly with out any risk of cutting/nicking myself. This device has made bean preperation easy and quick. We Love it!

It actually works”
by Mrs Deborah Vertue
I have bought a number of bean slicers over the years and all have been a bitter disappointment so I was thrilled when I used this one for the first time, it actually did what it said and so easily, it has taken the chore out of slicing beans.

I grow a lot of runner beans and find this indispensible. What's more, my 12 years old nephew will eat a pile of runner beans prepared like this ("spaghetti beans") whereas his mother says he won't touch them at home! Sadly, they don't last forever - I am on my third one now as the curved plastic, hinged bit has broken off the first two (my local Lakeland store replaced the first one but I had the second one for a couple of years and figured it had had some heavy duty use and some pretty sizeable home-grown beans shoved through it!). Before buying this product I used to use my grandmother's ancient bean slicer - an ice-cubed shaped plastic block with a row of blades inside - but hers doesn't remove the stringy sides like the Krisk Bean Slicer does. I have to give it 4 stars instead of 5 purely because I think the bit of plastic next to the spring mechanism could be made of sterner stuff. I would personally never bother stringing a green french bean, only runner beans which tend to be larger so exert more pressure on the device.

I couldn't believe how quickly I got through my massive harvest of runner beans and how little waste there was. Fantastic

Really easy to use and slices perfectly. The previous reviewer suggested bean spaghetti, and this is actually one of Rose Elliot's excellent suggestions for people on low carb diets who want a "pasta" dish. Works a treat!
