Pretty good egg”
Whatever detergent I use, however eco-friendly or skin-sensitive it's said to be, I always end up having to double rinse. Not so with the eco egg, so that's a big saving on electricity, water and time. The egg works well enough and, as others have pointed out, there's no detergent smell on the clothes. Best of all, we can use cloth hankies without setting off a bout of sneezing. I'd recommend to anyone with skin- or inhalant-sensitivity to detergents, and anyone else, really. 4 stars because for bad stains and very grubby whites I have to use a commercial stain product or detergent.

great for towels and coloured clothes”
by Ms Russell
having used an eco egg for over 18 months, I am an absolute convert. I love the way it freshens towels and other clothes, though I do have to still use powder for my whites as it's not tough enough for those dirty socks etc. I have only had to refresh it once and it lasts for ages so very economical and I don't use fabric softener with it (but don't expect that strong fragrance you get with some leading fabric softners) It's a great product for the environment and the clothes!

Very pleased but need some help”
by Miss welch
I've been using the Eco egg for years. (I have the old style one without a button to open it, its more fiddly but has never once opened up during a wash, bonus!) Ive always been really happy with the results but I've started to notice recently that deodorant stains are becoming more apparent and aren't shifting. Does anyone know if the stain remover would shift these? Also as a tip for those who don't think there is enough scent, I put 5 drops of essential in the drawer instead of conditioner. Its cheap, smells great and you can switch up scents with every wash.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. The supplier does recommend that, on more stubborn stains, a stain remover may be needed. We hope that helps.
I started using this to save money and to be more environmentally friendly but I am not impressed. The clothes do not come out smelling of freshly laundered washing and it doesn't get all food stains from my baby's clothes.

I have used this for about 3 weeks now but am returning to my liquid. Even the smallest of loads come out of the machine still grubby and, in my opinion, not smelling fresh, with eau de teenager not being removed! In a busy household with 3 under 6, I have a lot of washing and thought this may help with being Eco friendly.

I bought one of these a couple of years ago and have been very satisfied with the results. I do normally add fabric conditioner but not as much as I normally would. I do not normally have to deal with very dirty or stained clothes so no problems there.

Not totally convinced”
I bought this product a little while ago and it appeared to be doing a good job, until one day the egg came apart in the wash. We've since experienced this happening on every 3rd of 4th wash. It's annoying to have to fish all the balls out of the washing machine, clothes and off the floor each time. I can see its happened to others as well, so maybe this product needs to go back to the drawing board. Great idea though.

A note from the team: We're sorry to hear you've experienced this problem. The plastic bag inside the egg is water soluble and will dissolve in the first wash however as it appears the egg is working its way loose and losing the pellets on future washes it's worth check before each wash that the button is located in place, you should feel a click, and the bottom triangle is facing the 'dot'. We'll be in touch soon to help.
I've been using these laundry balls for a couple of years, and they are great. Good cleaning without the nasty chemicals, or constantly having to buy more powder. Most of my laundry isn't very dirty, but if I have something that looks like it might be difficult to shift, I use the stain remover, or add a bit of old fashioned detergent. This is rare. Please don't make the smell any stronger, as avoiding pointless chemicals is one of the benefits. Smelling of artificial perfume isn't the same as smelling fresh!

This is a good product and I have been happy with the results but unfortunately the ball keeps coming apart. It takes quite some time to collect all the little balls from the clothes, washer and floor. When I pointed this out to Lakeland they replaced my first eco ball without hesitation but unfortunately, it has happened again with the new one. I am giving up and will try something else.

I didnt use this item myself but my Partner (an ex nurse ) has used the egg twice and states that it doesnt meet her standards of cleanliness - and when she showed me the results it didnt meet mine clothes were still marked. As I have also bought a refill I shall be contacting Lakeland to consider a refund.

I am very happy with my Eco egg having used it continually for the last three months. My only criticism is the smell which is definitely not fresh and conditioner smell and freshness does not come through either. On coloureds the Ecco egg is fine but I do occasionally use washing liquid with whites to keep them white. Improve the smell and they would be perfect

Very happy I tried this”
by Mrs Newman
I really wasn't sure but decided to try this product as my son's skin is vry sensitive to normal soap powders and liquids. This has been a god send! NO rashes, no itching, nothing - just clean clothes! Highly recommended.

This laundry egg will save you money!”
Could not be happier with this product! The egg leaves clothes fresh, clean and soft and because it uses no chemicals they don't irriate the skin - and now I have saved so much money on expensive washing powder and softener.

Not "egg-actly " as it says on the tin !”
by Mrs Little
After 5 washes, it did not respond too well on stained whites, even at 60 degrees I did use the stain remover prior to wash- a little help.

A note from the team: Thanks for the review and taking the time to speak to me. I'm sorry that you'd been disappointed with the results, I'm glad we were able to put things right for you.
Have used this now for about 40 washes and I'm pleased to say it does work well on most things, even my husband's muddy golf trousers. However, it is not so good on greasy marks - they definitely need treating before washing. Beware - check before using each time that the two halves of the egg are securely joined. On one occasion mine came apart filling the washing machine with with the contents! The washing does lack freshness which is disappointing and I hope this will improve once winter is over and the washing can once again be line dried.

Good, but make sure you leave the pellets in the plastic bag”
Overall I am pleased with this item. It seems to wash clothes effectively, leaving a pleasant smell. I still use my normal stain remover on marks, and that combined with the laundry egg has removed stains in the wash. The packaging doesn't make it clear whether you should leave the pellets in the plastic bag inside the egg, or empty the contents of the bag into the egg. I was told to tip them out...but it turns out you shouldn't! The plastic bag is water soluble, and the pellets are supposed to be left in it. Finally, it includes a handy chart to mark off 54 washes, until you need a refill.

ECOEGG LAUNDRY EGG”
by Mrs Traynor
5 out of 5 for this laundry egg. I have used other similar products but find that after a few washes the ball breaks and all the contents get stuck in the drum of my washing machine and all over the floor when I take my washing out. However I decided that as it was the New Year I would try once again to be "green" and I'm so glad I did because these ecoeggs are excellent. My wash came out clean and fresh and it works out a lot cheaper than buying washing powder so it's a "win win" situation.

Eco ball causing a mess of it's own”
I bought the eco laundry ball a little while ago and have been using it until yesterday when to my horror the ball burst open during the wash cycle. When I opened the door I was confronted with little while and black balls in the washing and also in the drum - I managed to clear up the mess but can still hear rattling and cannot find any loose balls in the drum, which is worrying. I will not be using this again and have reverted to washing liquid. So, so disappointing.

Works as well as soap powder”
My daughter uses this egg and she suggested I give it a try. I am glad I did! Washes great, smells great and so easy and simple to use. I have not noticed any difference to soap powder. I will be buying more.
