Having recently had my small bathroom converted to a wet room I needed somewhere to store toiletries. I didn't want any drilling and even the latest 'suction' holders fall off the tiles. I liked the look of this item and the size seemed about right.
I checked several other internet sites, but found that the shower storage was either too big, too bulky or too small. As I am disabled I need to be able to reach shower gel etc.easily. For quite a while the price put me off. Finally I took a deep breath and ordered the Simplehuman Caddy.
I like the size, especially as the trays can be moved up and down. However, as has been said previously, the toothbrush holder doesnt! Most toothbrushes have wide gripping handles, and even sliding a toothbrush in sideways is not worth the effort. The hooks are not great either so I improvised. My 'scrunchy sponge' has a rope on it, so that hung on the toothbrush hooks and my facecloth drapes over the others, but needs both of the hooks.
As with all wire type container bases, my shower bottles tip over. The bases of shampoo bottles and shower gel are often narrow and need a firmer base to stand on. So again I improvised and though they will stand sideways on, the slightest knock makes them fall like skittles.
Adjustable feet are a boon as my floor slopes towards the water outlet at my feet. It doesn't sit in a corner, there was not enough room, but fits quite nicely on a flat wall within arms reach.
This product is sturdy, neat and I hope it lives up to its claims of not rusting.
I find that it has an equal amount of pros and cons, it suits my needs and looks good. It is very expensive though, which is a shame as many people will be put off by the price and if extending poles, drilling or not having the type of shower heads that hooks fit over are out of the question this is the next best thing.
Grit your teeth, pay up, and enjoy! Despite the cons I like this product..
