We purchased this mat to replace the "pebble" version that we have had for several years and we were very happy. This new mat is very disappointing, when the tap is turned on water splashes everywhere soaking the adjacent worktops and floor. We definitely feel that we have wasted money with this purchase, unusual for Lakeland.

I bought this sink mat from Lakeland as I know they sell reliable though a tad expensive products. I wanted it mainly to cover the bottom of my elderly granite sink and it seemed to serve the purpose. However, after only a few weeks it turned a 'pink' shade so looks quite shabby. It is also impossible to run water into the sink without water splashing the mat, myself and the window behind. I was also disappointed to see that a supermarket sells a similar product for around £3.

Water water everywhere!”
Very disappointed, thought mat looked ok and seemed to protect glasses when put in the sink until I turned water tap on and water went everywhere, up the walls, blinds and windows. Wish I had tested before I cut hole for the plug, waste of money.

Having waited quite a few months for this mat to be back in stock, I am very disappointed to find when water from my tap is anything other than a dribble it splashes - a lot - in every direction. I have had two of these mats in the past with no problem, I have not changed my sink or tap and I am fully aware there is a right and wrong side to the mat. Am I the only person to have this problem? I would like your comments please.

Certainly good on the three 'F's - fit, form and function! We have a Belfast sink and drainer which was always getting marked, not to mention the noise when washing up. This works wonders and was easy to cut to accommodate the plug hole. So good - we're buying a second one for the drainer!

This review is for an older version of this product
I have poured boiling water into the sink with the mat in place and no warping at all. It is a nice mat and easily cuts to size. I am buying another to sit on the draining board to save my stainless steel drainer from scratches.

Be warned - my mat warped the first time I drained some cooked pasta. I told my husband to be careful - he forgot and did the same thing damaging the other side... Now the (expensive and achingly stylish) mat won't lie flat which makes draining delicate glassware difficult. Lakeland, bless them, have now refunded my money. Perhaps we were just unlucky but I expected more for the price.
