I have passed these on to so many of my family and friends. They are truly fantastic. I wash BLACK (yes black) towels in with WHITE...and no colour running problems.... I have used this product for many years and was devastated many moons ago when the original cloth was taken off Lakeland's collection and jumped for joy with its return, albeit under a different name. Thank you Lakeland

You gotta get a Grabber!”
by Mrs Edwards
if you've not tried these yet then you MUST. Terrific for small loads of different colours and materials. No more blending colours or 'off' colours it all goes in the cloth. No matter how grim that may look, it still does its job brilliantly.

Can't do without these!”
I keep buying these cloths and they are an absolute must for me, I can mix all colours in my washing machine without colour running. I have used paper ones in the past, which have resulted in blocking the filter and having to call an engineer, but these are made of cloth and are totally safe. Hope they never get discontinued!

Sheila Robson's washday wonders...”
by Sheila Robson
I HAVE BEEN USING THESE CLOTHS FOR MANY YEARS NOW...ORIGINALLY UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME AND WAS SO DISTRESSED WHEN THEY WERE UNAVAILABLE. I AM USING THREE VERY OLD ONES TOGETHER WITH A NEW ONE AND SPREAD THE NEWS TO ALL MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS...MUCH CHEAPER THAN WASHING SEPARATELY. I WASH STRONG TERRACOTTA TOWELS WITH MY WHITE ONES ! THAT HAS TO BE A HUGE PLUS ON WASHDAYS. I WOULD HATE TO BE WITHOUT MY DYE GRABBER CLOTHS AND THEY CAN BE USED,EVENTUALLY, FOR MOPPING UP SPILLAGES. THANK YOU LAKELAND FOR ALL YOUR PRODUCTS BUT ESPECIALLY FOR REINSTATING DYE GRABBER.

Really work but don't last 30 washes”
I've used these cloths for years and find them really brilliant for soaking up small amounts of loose dye. They used to last close on 30 washes but since they were repackaged and given a new white edging I can barely get 10 washes from a cloth before it turns the '30' grey colour. I took an unused cloth on holiday with us, thinking it would be great for the mixed holiday loads - it's the '30' grey after 3 washes!! And we didn't have any new t-shirts in the washing. These are working out so exensive I only use them for the mixed coloureds, the darks and whites have to do without.

Can't live without them”
I absolutely rely on these - I've been using them for years and they are brilliant. They allow you to mix colours together and stop your light coloured clothes acquiring a grey tinge. I'm always astounded at how much colour the colour-grabber picks up even from light coloured clothes that have been washed many, many times before, and allow you to mix whites with creams, blues with pinks, etc. I've still turned my husband's shirts pink by leaving a red item in the machine by accident, but then I didn't know it was in there and so I didn't include a colour grabber that time - wish I had!

I agree with previous reviewers. This is an excellent product and they really do work. I use them with every wash to preevnt accidents and you can really see how much loose dye they pick up. However, they are a very expensive product, especially so now that we have a new baby in the house!

Doesn't do what it supposes to do...”
I brought this product at the end of Feb and only used it once. This product did catch some color but my white clothes still came out colored ( I used cold water cycle). This product doesn't work. I would like to return this product however I couldn't find the receipt. ( I never thought I will need to return any product to Lakeland)

A note from the team: Thank you for placing your review. We're sorry that this product did not work for you. We'll be in touch soon.
I use them until they are pretty much black and then start a new one. I much prefer them to the paper sheet type as these ones don't slip into the filter and cause a blockage. Worth every penny.

Have Been Using This For Years!”
by Mrs Day
What a great invention! I have been using these for years now and can say that they are excellent. Gone are the worries that my daughter's love for red will spoil the other clothes in the wash! Even over-dyed jeans are no longer an issue! Fantastic.

i have been buying the dye grabber for years and i think it is very good, i recently bought 2 new one's and i find they have changed the packaging and left off the usage dial which makes it difficult to keep a record and know when it is finished.

A note from the team: Thanks for taking the time to write your review I'm glad the color grabber has been such a success. The dial has been replaced by a usage tally printed on the side of the box for you to mark off after each use.

I bought a dye trapper cloth several years ago and have used it ever since. It was to cover 226 washes. I have used it every which way and it is wonderful. I cannot find another like it and am so vexed, it now needs replacing.

Fantastic Product - thank you!”
by Mrs Major
One of my husband's t-shirts had a pink tinge to it from mixing coloureds that ran. I bought this product on the off chance that the offending dye might be caught and miraculously the color grabber absorbed the pink dye. I'm not saying it would always work as it is just supposed to catch loose dyes to stop them transferring onto other clothes, but it did for me and I use it in every wash now. Even when the cloth goes a dirty colour, it continues to work. I've not gone past about 28 washes but I wouldn't be without this product now. Thank you Lakeland. Please always stock this item.

This review is for an older version of this product
These have really come into their own since we had a baby, as the washing machine is on all the time and it would be on even more if I couldn't wash whites and coloureds together. If you know you have something that really runs, it's still better to wash it on its own first (just common sense) but even if you don't you should be OK - I accidentally washed a new green-striped towel with my brand new white dressing gown - the Grabber went bright green and the dressing gown was saved!

Cheaper options available”
by Miss Nicol
Hi bought this before and was impressed by the idea. These are disposable but are fabric so you can put them in recycling bins- and if lots of colour then you can use more sheets- saves having to keep a grubby looking cloth around as well.

Brilliant and reliable to just chuck a mixed coloured wash into the machine with this product. No worries about colours wandering where they shouldn't!

I've just purchased my second of these cloths & think they are fantastic, if a little pricey.... I managed to get the stated 30 washes out of my last one, but it seems from previous reviews this maybe an oddity! All the same, I'd rather pay £6.99 than risk loosing a much loved item I'm washing.

Glad to see you still sell these. Mine ran out, and as I'd just bought some magenta towels I got a pack of paper type colour catchers. One of these ended up in the filter of my machine, and it took my handy husband 3/4 hour to drain the machine and remove it so the machine would work again! Dread to think how much it would have cost to call out an engineer had he not been capable of doing it! Never had ANY problems with the terry cloth ones. Bearing in mind the trouble I had with the paper ones, I don't think these are expensive. Well worth it.

wonderful but . . .”
This is a great product and really works but I agree with other reviewers that it only works for 20 or so washes. As much as I wish I could afford to buy them more often, £6.99 or even the Buy Two offer is not economic if I have to replace them so frequently which, for the number of colour washes I do (four or five per week) is about once a month.

Dye Grabber wears out”
Like Helen, I found the dye grabber worked extremely well until about wash 22. Unfortunately I washed a red tablecloth along with some other darkish items and managed to inadvertently tie-dye 2 other items red. Not a mistake I shall make again! Nevertheless, I'm continuing to use it (6 washes to go) with no further problems.
