Not as good as the Zyliss one was....”
by Mrs Johnson
My daughter managed to break the guard/handle on her Zyliss version of this that we bought from Lakeland a year or two ago. We were sad to see you no longer stocked it, but this is the same principle and so we bought it instead. Sadly it is nowhere near as good quality as the Zyliss version - it is adequate but less sturdy and the knife blade is nowhere near as useful. Like any good Mum, I now have this one, and I have given my Zyliss one to her. But I would replace this with another Zyliss one the minute you would stock them again. (Looks hopefully at the Lakeland buyers...)

Diogenes Peeler Slicer”
Been looking for these, thought they were no longer made. So glad to find them, bought 3. The very thin blade cuts extremely well, I have always kept our old one really sharp, but it lost it's peeler. Replacements in other makes were never quite as good. Made by Diogenes of Solingen, the genuine article. Perhaps you should put the makers name in the description. Ordered on line and delivered in good time, excellent from Lakeland.

i agree with one of the previous reviewers that its quite sharp and i was bout to cut my finger,it peels good and cuts well but if size of apples or fruit is small ,u cant cut big sized apples or pears with it comfortably, even the medium sized are hard, its for small sized fruit,i was disappointed to notice this and also was not expecting it,will be returning it:(

Handy, but flimsy”
I've got one of these, but one of the blades of the peeler snapped in half in the middle on an innocuous Russet apple. It travelled with the knife bit in a pen holder in my bag and ws lovely for peeling snacks on the go, but putting the knife away in the sleeve after peeling showed me that the sleeve itself is difficult to clean on the inside. So, great idea, but maybe not quite up to the task I asked of it.

Peel N Slice”
I have been using this make of peeler since the early eighties and have never had one break. I would be lost without it, I have tried others but none can beat this for sharpness and ease of use. I do not use the knife as i am not keen on serrated blades. Please don't ever stop selling this peeler

Peel n slice”
I have just destroyed my third of these knives. I love it and will buy another. I cook everything from scratch, so I use it a lot as we eat large amounts of vegies. I have yet to find a knife and peeler I like better, such a pity it doesn't last.

So far, don't like it!”

I have found this peeler a disappointment. I wish Lakeland sold a fixed blade peeler as I always find these swivel-type peelers too "wobbly". I find that peel easily gets stuck in the peeling blade. Maybe I'm using it wrong... Warning: the knife is terribly sharp, and it is not immediately obvious which side is the cutting one!

I was given the gift of one of these knives over 20 years ago and have only just had to replace it. During all that time it has never been sharpened yet remained the sharpest knife in the drawer!

Different but good”
I recently tried four different peelers from Lakeland, I usually use a Y peeler so this little tool felt very different in my hand and will need a bit of getting use to. It cuts well and I can see many uses for it in the future but I think special care is needed because it is very sharp.

Unusually for a 2-in-1, this little treasure does both jobs very well, with the handle/cover surprisingly comfortable, even for an epic peeling session. I have bought several over the years: I put one in my mother's kitchen drawer, and she has all-but worn it out. I currently own 2, because The Peel 'n' Slice is in my "Travel Essentials Kit". Lovely to be able to buy lovely fresh fruit and salad vegetables from a market stall and prepare a light lunch. It's one of the best reasons for checking a suitcase! I often fly "Hand luggage Only", and I have been known to put a Peel 'n' Slice in the post. You can usually borrow a corkscrew, but hotels don't have knives or peelers.

This is a brilliant little gadget - so much so I own two. It makes peeling (anything) quick and easy and there is no need for a knife to cut or chop fruit and veggies - as your knife is at the other end. Great buy.
