I really struggle with the fact you can't see it count down to the end because the screen light cuts out after a few seconds. And while you can tap the screen to bring it back, I've had a few instances where the 'tap' has reset the timer and I've lost where I'm up to! Since it was bought as a gift not much I can say, but I wouldn't recommend it

We had an elderly Salters timer which was perfect, but had been knocked to the floor once too often, and had to be replaced. I thought the Lakeland timer would be similar. The problem, as other reviewers have commented, is that it goes invisible after a while, meaning it can't be seen across the kitchen, which rather defeats the purpose. And to wake it up you have to tap the screen - which in my experience is as likely as not to pause it. In summary, it's poorly designed.

This timer is easy to use and it has a handy magnet on the back to attach it to a fridge door or other metal surface. The only downside is the fact that the display goes 'dull' after a shirt while, which is presumably an energy saving feature, but it does make it more difficult to read without tapping the screen again. However, this does not detract from how good the item is.

a bit disappointed”
We already had a kitchen timer but the display is black on grey so in some lighting conditions I found it difficult to see. I wanted something which had a much greater level of visibility. This timer initially delivers on that score. But here's the problem. After about 40 seconds the display switches itself into a power saving mode and goes from bright and visible to black on grey. It can be activated again by tapping the screen on the m or the s but that defeats the object for me. I wanted this to be able to bring together various elements of cooking, but it is not suitable for that.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry the timer hasn't worked as well as expected, we'll be in touch shortly to help.. Screen will go blank when in use. This helps with power saving and as you mentioned the screen will come back with just a tap of the screen.
Very easy to use with large touch screen buttons and the visual is extremely easy to read. Excellent value for money.
