My advice: mix the porridge the night before. Mix half a cup of oats with a full cup of milk or milk and water. Add salt to taste. Put in the fridge with lid on, vent closed. In the morning, keep the lid on, raise the vent, cook on full power for 1 minute. Stir, return to microwave, cook for 40 seconds. Stir vigorously, add cold milk etc. to taste. It’s common sense to watch the pot during your first experiment. Turn off the microwave immediately if porridge starts oozing through the vent – duh. (I found the noodle pot even better for this amount.)
