Same problem as previous review”
I read that the bottom of the pan is not supposed to touch the water and steam is supposed to melt the chocolate. The bain marie is too deep, but I got around this by placing it in a steamer, worked a treat.

Depth of saucepan needed”

I was pleased to receive my Bain Marie today as a gift from a friend as an early Christmas present. My only problem was while you give the diameter of the saucepan needed, you never gave the depth! As the Bain Marie is quite deep, you need a saucepan of at least 7" deep. None of my saucepans were unfortunately, so I had to buy a saucepan specifically for the Bain Marie. Would have been helpful to have this information in your catalogue.

Had this bain marie in the post today and have already used it twice to melt chocolate to make bark. It's so easy to use and the chocolate seems to melt better than in did using a pyrex basin over a saucepan. It's also very easy to wash clean. I'm really pleased with it - wish I'd bought it a long time ago!
