I was so excited about these cutters, but actually the box wasn't big enough and the cutters themselves aren't very well made and are a bit flimsy. This meant the shape of the house wasn't that great. I was hoping for more.

Love the Gingerbread House cutters”
Very pleased with these cutters, already made seven houses for family and friends using the recipes on the back of the box. Not had any problems, not had to add any more flour. One question: How long can you keep the made up house and it still be edible?

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. The house will last as long as gingerbread biscuits. It'll last longer if you keep it in an airtight container. If you don't have a container large enough, a bread bin would work, but not as well. We hope that helps.
GINGERBREAD HOUSE CUTTER SET”
I'm really surprised to see this on sale again this year. I bought the set last year (2013), the cutters have very poor quality welds (if that's the right term), most of my set came apart when being washed/dried by hand. I returned mine to my local shop and was refunded the full cost. The recipe isn't very good at all, I had to add loads more flour. I naively thought it would have been tried and tested in the Lakeland kitchen.

A note from the team: We're sorry to hear you've been disappointed with this product. It has proved to be a popular item each Christmas and has sold well in our stores and by mail order. We hope you found a suitable alternative.
I have been making Ginger Bread Houses for approx. 20yrs using a cardboard template. The end results often were a bit wonky to say the least. I ordered the cutter set and I have to say Iam delighted with my purchase. Not only does it have the house template but also includes the little people and a tree. Amazing value and no more wonky houses in the Townsend household. Thankyou Lakeland for coming up with another fantastic idea.

Was really excited! Was hoping to start a new family tradition with gingerbread houses at Christmas rather than cake, only to discover that the box appeared to be misshapen. Upon further investigation I found that the box is too small for the cutters and that they had been wedged in. Some of my cutters are bent and if I used them I would definitely end up with a wonky house. Excellent value for money and potentially easy to bend back into shape but don't see why I should, when its something quite easy to fix. Supply a bigger box please lakeland.

Gingerbread House Cutters”

The cutters are great. The recipe for Gingerbread is a bit wet, need to add more flour.

gingerbread house cutters”
I was really pleased to see a cutter set and at a good price too. I made the recipe on the box but I added 200g more flour as it was really sticky. We decided to make a haunted house for halloween so the dark treacle gingerbread worked a treat and we dripped blood red and slimy green icing over the roof topped with jelly ghost sweets. Finally the gingerbread men turned skeleton and I used the chimney bits to make tomb stones. Roll on Christmas for a more traditional version.

Easy to Follow”
by Lynn Griffiths
I am making Gingerbread Houses for our customers. I needed a great recipe and strong template that would be quick and easy to follow. I am very happy to say Lakeside provided both.

This is a brilliant set of cutters. Not the strongest and I did need to trim the biscuits slightly as some edges spread while baking. I followed the recipe on the back of the box & had a nice hard gingerbread. I'm not sure how it is to eat as I made mine for decoration only. Tricky to put together but practice makes perfect!
