I'm Not Bowled Over - Yet...”
I really, really want to love this but at the moment I'm not overly convinced. I've tried a few recipes in it, both my own and the recommended recipes, they take longer to cook than stated, which isn't a problem in itself, but the bottoms of the cake came out very dry as a result. I will persevere and try some of the suggestions in previous reviews to see if I can achieve better results as I'd really like to love it. I do think it's a little over priced though, had I not had gift vouchers to spend, I doubt I would have bought it.

Just expensive toy”
My little girl got the maker for her birthday. She is 8 and uses oven to bake cupcake and they always look great! When she baked her first batch using electric cupcake maker they were flat and didn't look like on the picture. Also, it worth to mention that you will need to use smaller sachets. I think it's a good toy but not an alternative to the oven.

Small group work in Pre-school settings”
by Mrs Shardlow
The electric cupcake maker proved to be a great success when used with small groups of children in the setting at Westnewton Cumbria. The small quantity of ingredients needed to make 6 perfect buns enabled the practitioner leading the activity to bake with 3 groups of 6 children during the session. We can highly recommend the cup cake maker for small group activities and for home baking with adult supervision.

Yummy yummy in my tummy”
After reading the reviews I decided since we needed a treat to go for the chocolate recipe so that we wouldn't need to care about whether they browned. I waited patiently for the green light and put them in (am not sure it it meant I should leave the top open, add cases and spoon in mixture, but anyway I didn't do that I filled the cases next to the machine, opened it and popped them in.) Still took 12 mins, but they were lovely. I can see why lots of people say make double and pack 'em in.

Cupcake maker & Blini maker”
by Mrs Mary Farren
I'm loving the cupcake maker especially in the hot weather as it means I can bake without having the oven on, this was handy recently when I wanted to make a batch for the staff at the local school I work at I wondered how I would transport them without damaging the icing, when I saw my Lakeland Blini mould and used that to secure the cakes to the container base it worked wonderfully the silicone kept the cakes from falling against each other, as a learner cake decorator it helped my cakes look fairly good on arrival.

I bought the cupcake maker it looked very attractive and I thought I could make cupcakes anytime with ease. I was wrong the cupcakes burn on the bottom but look pale and insipid on the top. It will be back to the conventional method for me.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry for the disappointment and will be in touch shortly.Tip: Repeated opening of the lid will reduce the temperature and will affect the top of the cupcake. One customer has said to put sufficient mix in the holder so the cupcake will touch the top of the mould later in cooking to brown nicely.
Pale? Don't despair!”
by Chloe Seet
Hi, if you cupcakes turn up pale don't worry! I was warned by a shopping assistant in Lakeland that they might turn out pale. If you put a few drops gravy browning in the cake mix it will look light brown when they are cooked. Don't be put off, it just changes the look not the taste! Just made a fabulous batch of cherry cola cupcakes mmm, it's a great product.

As soon as i got home i used it , and it is brilliant..the cupcakes rise nicely and are very soft..after 7mins they were nicely done. i also used the chocolate recipe from the book that comes with the cupcake maker..and i must say they came exquisite and liked by all! so happy with it :)

I was at first disappointed with this machine and found the mini much better, but after making a traditional cake mix and using cake cases, the cakes seemed a lot better. I just needed to adjust the time to 18-20 mins not 10 as stated.

A note from the team: We're pleased that you've had better success using the cupcake cases and by adjusting the cooking time. A simple adjustment can make all the difference.
With a couple of tweaks, just produced some great cupcakes with this machine. I used a 'Basic' sponge mix (makes 11 cupcakes). The green light MUST be on before using. The first batch took 9 minutes and the second batch (because the iron was hot) took 8 minutes (don't open it up to peek before the time is up). YES! they do come out looking pale but they taste great! Try it.

Our daughter bought one of these for her mother's birthday, and although the end result was reasonable getting there was a bit long winded. Also one doesn't normally make enough mix just for 6 cakes, therefore using this baker is not viable as it takes longer than a conventional oven, and they did not brown on top (looked a bit insipid). Overall it was considered the whole idea a bit gimicky. Philip Cotton.

Got this in the hope of making good cupcakes, no such luck. The bottom always burns the cakes, therefore making them inedible. Not happy.

Recently bought this cup cake maker. How brilliant fresh cakes in minutes. Put it on to warm up make up the mixture and it is ready to go. Wash up the bowl and mixer and the cakes are ready. What more could you ask for?

I love this product. At 1st my cakes where undercooked or overcooked I have now purchased the cake tester and have perfect results. The only downside is the cakes work better in the silcone cases, which is no good when donating to school fairs. My daughters love using the machine and saves turning the oven on and we only need to make a few at a time. Thanks for another great product now I have overcome the problems.

Brilliant. I got sick of paying for shop-bought cakes which are all a bit cardboardy so I decided to give this a go. Trial and error has taught me to make double the amount stated and to fill the cases to the top this way they rise and touch the top late and brown nicely on the top. I have tried all sorts of fillings, fruits and flavours adding them to the basic (100gm butter, sugar, flour, 2 eggs) mixture and all have been a huge success. Bake for 15mins, check and leave another 2 or 3 mins if needed - perfection! Highly recommend!

Very easy to use - no instructions in the box, Lakeland sending them by post - as I couldn't wait, I bought a packet cake mix to try it out. Wouldn't buy the cake mix again but the cakes came out light and evenly cooked in 10 mins. I would Highly recommend this product
