I bought this last weekend and have had a few goes now. It works well, produces good pastry cases, & cleans well in the dishwasher. Since I am an inexperienced cook, I automatically placed it on a solid baking tray, as I did not know to do otherwise. However, the cases look awful. This is because, as mentioned elsewhere, the floppinness of the tray makes it nearly impossible to press the pastry flat against the sides of the wells, as you can on solid trays. Does anyone have any ideas about how to get the pastry cases to look like the photo on the packaging??? Help, please!

A note from the team: Thanks for taking the time to write your review. For best results, make sure the pastry is cold and has been in the fridge for a least half an hour and roll it reasonably thin so it's easy to mould. I'll be in touch shortly.

I have been using these regularly for over a year and would not be without them. I am going to buy a set for my sister- so no more soggy bottoms! I find it best to let the food cool before trying to remove them from the silicone to avoid floppy ness and burnt fingers

Perfobake tart tray”
Thought this is a great idea and had no trouble lining the trays. However when I went to move the tray I got into real problems. It could do with a support tray. I may be using it wrong as I felt that the idea was for heat to get to all the item being cooked, and so did not put it on a baking tray. I thought the idea was to put it straight onto the oven shelf but this does not work as it is impossible to move once filled, especially with quiche.

A note from the team: Thanks for placing your review. We're sorry for the disappointment and have a handy tip: use a bakeware tray under the perfobake tart tray to make it more stable when removing from the oven. We'll be in touch shortly.
No more soggy bottoms”

What a great product. Bakes lovely pastry cases every time - no soggy bottoms! Make sure you put it on a baking tray to steady it as you put it in& out of the oven.

The idea seems great but this really needs a cutter to come with the product. I've gone back to using my individual tart dishes.

Perfect Pies and Quiches !”
by Miss Jones
Wonderful trays - I purchased and used both the Tart and Tartlet Trays with great results - I did wonder if they would be difficult to use as they are soft, however, NOT AT ALL !!! very easy to use and line - My pastry came out perfect (for a change!) ... looks very professional, my quiches don't even look homemade - THANK YOU !!! Highly Recommened for both experienced cooks and beginners !!! Will be buying the other products in this range !

great idea, but difficult to use”
i'm a novice with pastry, and thought this would help me to make portioned sized tarts easily. however i found it difficult to get in and out of the oven being so floppy (tarts on the floor) and found washing it up by hand (my only option) to be a nightmare with the perforations. washed it three times... and still not clean. the one tart i managed to save came out beautifully, but the difficulty to use and clean it put me off using it again.

Too floppy to trim pastry neatly”
Even resting this on a solid tray doesn't help. I can't seem to find cutters either. Very disappointing.

A note from the team: Thanks for the review. I'm sorry that you've been disappointed with the tart tray. I'll be in touch shortly.
I bought this tray back in January and I have used it for treacle tarts, chicken and ham individual pies, mini quiches, homity pies, individual lemon meringues - the list is endless. I love it! I place it in a shallow metal roasting tray(from lakeland!) to make it easier to take out of the oven but everything comes out with a crisp bottom!

I have recently purchased this and also the tartlet tray. I found it difficult to find a pastry cutter large enough to fit the tart tray. It would be a good idea if the tart trays came with the correct size pastry cutters. Having said that I did manage to cut out pastry of the correct size for the tarlet tray. These produced the most lovely pies to be proud of using my quick flaky pastry . I was so pleased with them. I had greater difficulty with the tart tray so they did not turn out so well. But they both were lovely and crispy.

I found this item to be excellent. I used it for the first time to make mediteranian tartlets and it did a great job! Also delighted that you opened your store in Belfast! We need a great shop such as yours in Northern Ireland!

VERY 'FLOPPY' and DIFFICULT”
Warning ... unlike the other reviewer whose report encouraged me to buy, I find this very difficult to use due to its somewhat uncontrolled nature, even when laid onto one of your best quality baking trays! I have several other silicone baking items which I have used successfully, this appears so MUCH thinner and therefore a problem to line neatly with pastry. I am a (mature) well-experienced baker and Lakeland customer of very many years, but this is a great disappointment!

A note from the team: Thanks for your feedback on the Perfobake tart tray. While lining, always keep the tray flat on a work surface or baking sheet for stability. We're sorry it hasn't been working for you, and we'll be in touch to help.
I have often been put off making my own mini quiches and tarts because I found them fiddly and very easy to either have soggy or burnt pastry. This tart tray works like a dream, every one was crisp and perfectly baked, and best of all they were so easy to remove from the bendy silicone, and washing up was a breeze. I also have the baguette tray and I am more than delighted with both.
